I've never owned a pickup before this one, but I was living in VT, and having trouble on back roads with my car. I bought a 2008 4cyl. Access Cab Manual transmission SR5, and absolutely love this truck!! I drove it all the way to Alaska, and now I live in Anchorage. This truck is stellar off road, and in snow and ice. The bed is roomy, and there is not a noticeable difference in power (from the 6 cyl. my friend has) unless the truck is really weighed down. I've driven it nearly 20k miles, and had ZERO problems. I would easliy recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable truck. The only time I thought the 4 cyl is inadequate was when I traveled through the rockies on I-70, and when I towed a small U-Haul trailer through the Green Mountains from Vermont to New York. Other than that, it's a stellar truck, and I have absolutely no complaints.
