This vehicle has excellent gas mileage, ride is good for a light small wheel base car, it reminds me of driving a high performance go-cart. This vehicle is fun and easy to drive. Back seat is very comfortable compared to other vehicles. Great value.

I dislike any new car, bought this one as it was best overall value with air conditioning. Bought base hatchback. It does just what it's suppose to do, go from here to there with minimum use of gas, somewhat comfortable but toterable. I found it's overall quality about the same as competitor "cheapos", performance about the same also. In reality, enco boxes are all about the same, hard to cut the cheese much differant, but it is the best value for the bucks with a/c included. Satisfied even though I choke at even spending this much money for 4 wheels after owning my trade since new in '95. As for realibility, I am a firm believer a car is not better than the owner that takes care of it so it should serve my purposes well enough. Products are so price nuts nowdays it's hard to take any of them seriously and makes me gag, this was the best I could do and hope for another 14 yrs of service after that it's a wheelchair and God knows what those things will cost then....read morehide

I have a 5 door Yaris as a rental here in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I selected the Yaris because I though I might purchasing one in the Philippines. My company wanted to give me a larger car but I chose the Yaris because of my plans and the lack of parking spaces here in Abu Dhabi. On the freeway "I" am flashing the lights at the BMW's and MB to pullover and let me by so it has plenty of power to do 140 kph+ if needed. Fun to drive and an ease to park and I park in some places others can not fit into. I will definitely get one in the Philippines with a standard shift. Mileage is good but I am not really checking since company pays for the gas. I get about 450 kilometers before I fill up and the low tank level waring is flashing. I have also had to drive long distances in 100+ heat with no problems with A/C or engine problems....read morehide

I love my car! I have had it 3 years and still look at it and smile. Haven't had any maintenance except oil changes and replaced the tires.

This is one funny looking car. Cheap plastic interior is a minus, but overall it's tons of fun to drive (in standard transmission), good pick-up, has the engine of a riding mower and suspension of a go-cart. Still, it's a Toyota, and if you take care of it it'll take care of you for years (and years) to come. A good, cheap deal for city driving....read morehide

I love this car. I replaced a Volvo XC90 so it took a few days getting used to the smaller car. I commute everyday in the Yaris and just love it! I am 6'1" 200 lbs and I fit just fine. The Toyota dealer was great to deal with and they had a very good selection of Yaris 3 door to choose from. I would recommend this car to everyone!...read morehide

I think it depends on who drives it. Hubby kills the shift when starting out while I don't. Hubby averages 37 mpg while I get 40 average. I can take it up a 20% San Francisco grade just fine and he can't. He oversteers, I don't. I love it, he doesn't. He prefers his big Tundra, I don't. As to the seats, we added sheepskin front covers (can't put covers on the sides thanks to the airbags) so they're very comfy. The 3 glove boxes are quite handy. Being typically slow drivers, we pretty much ignore the speedometer anyway in any car, but thats still a bit funky to us. Yes, its a bit noisy inside, but my son and I hooked up his mp3 and listened to it all the way from San Fran to Salt Lake to Vegas to LA. BTW it "only" got 38 mpg at 85 mph....read morehide

I just purchased this car two days ago, and I like it the more I drive it. The manual is very easy to drive, and for a college student this is the perfect car to get around in a big city. The car moves around quickly, and it's so short it will fit in most parking spots. If you're looking for an inexpensive, fuel efficient, fun car, this is it!...read morehide

I've had my '09 Yaris 3-door liftback for about two weeks now, and I absolutely love it. The car just makes you want to smile every time.
I'm a big guy (6'+/300lbs+) and I have no problems fitting in or getting in and out of it, though I doubt I'll be spending much time in the backseat. I swear I have more room as the driver than I did in the SUV that my Yaris replaced. The driving position is excellent, and the handling is extremely nimble due to the electronic steering assist, which does take some getting used to (especially @ highway speeds) as others have noted. The center-mounted gauges are growing on me, but I do wish mine had a tach (which is available on other models but didn't come equipped on mine). I chose to wait for a black one to come in, because I found the other colors to be a little too bland (and/or feminine), but my salesman found one pretty quickly for me and had it ready in just a few days. I love the way it looks and feels to be in & around this car!
I don't know that this would be my choice if I lived out in the sticks and did mostly highway driving, but for city & suburban commuting, you can not beat it. I feel like I could park this thing in a shoebox! 39.5 MPG on the 1st tank; I haven't had a chance to fill it up a 2nd time yet and I'm approaching 900 miles.
The only unavailable option that I would've liked to have is a sunroof; I did get the power package and the 15" wheels though.
I am also EXTREMELY satisfied with my buying experience; Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield were just awesome about everything. It wouldn't have taken much to scare me off, as I wasn't sure about buying new in this economy, but I'm glad I did....read morehide
