Purchased my 2009 S60 new and currently have about 6000 miles on it. Came to Volvo on the recommendation of a friend who has one and also became very discouraged with the unrelaibility of his BMW and the excessive cost for repair. Have had no problems with the S60 and it is the most comfortable car I have ever owned. At my height of six foot four, most cars don't fit me well but this one does. Adore my 2.5T! 2nd Volvo I've owned 850 prior....the cab is perfect, I rely on the cruise control, the distance left on my gas tank is wonderful and the sound system just right. I own a 2006 S60 AWD and I love it, Its my second Volvo AWD vehicle. What impresses me most is the combination of comfort, awd handling on slick/icy/snowey roads and the unheard of gas mileage. I do alot of highway driving and I can average as much as 36mpg. I was skeptical when my trip computer was giving me this information but at fill ups, I confirm, 10.2 gallons, 363 miles, pretty impressive. This puts it up there above such cars as the Civic and with alot more power and finesse. Actually I am just getting around to writing this review for the 2008 S60 AWD we bought. We love the car. We had our first opportunity to drive long distance over various road conditions (hills, flat, etc.) and for a 3K mile trip, we averaged 33mpg which amazed me. The car rides just beautifully. The high mils per gallon was due to using cruise control and not going over 64m/hr, I'm sure. We love the car and would recommend it to anyone considering a Volvo. This is our first and we are totally pleased. Oh, one con with the car. With the driver and passenger head rests in place, it is difficult to see behind you when backing up. What I really like about the S60 is it's ability to make the highway safe. Many times clowns have tried to push me along faster on I-10 and before they get under my skin I just simply leave them behind. This thing hunkers-down and goes from 70 MPH to 110 MPH in no time at all...it's a sheep in wolves clothing on the open road.

In the city SUV's rule until they need to corner. The only other car that corners like the S60 is the BMW. SUV's who like to ride your bumper respectfully drop back like an ole porch dog when cornering, this thing corners on a dime, and at a speed easily tripple of what would flip an SUV. So wave good bye at the corner if they dare try taking it like an S60....read morehide

I love my 2004 S-60. I got a good price on it (internet shopping) and it is equiped with lots of convenient features. I have 97k miles on it and the only thing I have done to it is change the oil, front brakes, tires, wipers and headlight bulbs. It is five years old and still looks good.

Good gas mileage, great Volvo service, Has 33,000 miles and have not had a problem yet .

Cons

Has a few blind spots , and not much leg room for the backseat passengers

I love my S60. I had a chevy years ago that I bought brand new that I had problems with starting the first week I owned it. My last vehicle was a ford windstar that went through two transmissions before I got rid of it. Granted my s60 still has only 33,000 miles on it but have had no problems so far. It is comfortable and I love all the little extra's on it. My favorite thing is the power it has. Talk about fun. Secondly, the stereo rocks. Now of course if it was a problem car all of that would not matter but my car has been a dream. The safety features on this car are also a high point as I do have children that ride in it. I leased my 2006 2.5 AWD S60 three years ago as a new car and just purchsased it from Volvo for less than the "buy back". Dealer was very willing to negotiate a fair price and made sure the car was 100% perfect. The car has approx. 35,000 miles on it now and has been everything I thought it to be when I first leased the car. I live in Connecticut and needed a good snow car (thus the 4 wheel drive) but looks, ride, reliability were also very important. I love the car as it has been very reliable and I keep my cars for 10 years or 120,000 miles so reliability is important. I have owned BMW's and AUDI's and if people think Volvo's are expensive to service out of warranty (which they are a little) thne do not even think of an BMW, Mercedes or AUDI. Interior Dash looks a bit last century, but all the functions are there.

It's been a month since I drove home this car from the dealer. This is feels solid and heavy, and yet very responsive. The seats are the most comfortable seats I ever sat on. Interior's fit and finish is well done, however the dash looks a bit last century. I'm getting 26MPG Average, still trying to properly break in the car so I didn't accelerate too fast yet.
Over all this is a very nice car. Other cars in my family are: Lexus RX, Saab 9-3....read morehide
