My 2004 v70 continues to show unending, expensive problems after 100K miles, just like my 1998 did. Here's the list: ABS module fails ($1400), Transmission ($3000+), window switch ($300), ABS a second time!, a steady stream of computer communication error codes. Each one of these could only be repaired by the dealer or had parts that only the dealer could stock. Every failure comes with $100's of dollars in 'software' upgrades or fixes. When my Windows Software has a glitch, even microsoft provides it for free. What a ripoff! nice car, but looks like a Ford with leather seats to me....read morehide

I love this car- mine hast 145,000 miles and is still going great- sure I have had some problems- but nothing out of the norm for a car with so many miles. It is 8 years old and still looks and drives great- I still get compliments. Great for running around and going out on the town- I have recommended this car to everyone. I am hoping to have it for years to come....read morehide

I bought a 2003 second hand volvo V70. It had the features no other cars have then. Everything was running alright until you go over 90,000miles. As it was quite an old car, the repair shop does not have the parts and need to specially order which cost me quite alot. Overall, the V70 is a good car. It can be considered by others before buying cars like the BMW and more... Perfect car for a family....read morehide

I've had 3 of these cars, a 2004, 1999 and 1998. All have been the same: Great handling, (turbo) powerful, good braking, nice interior. All have had the same problem. Very few problems till 100,000 miles, then WATCH OUT. Figure at least another $5,000 in repair costs to get the next 30,000 miles. Even more if you use the dealership. Basic engine and running gear is excellent..... the computers, sensors, switches, etc. all begin to fail. Parts are very expensive. Most components can only be gotten at the dealer and with them comes software charges of $100 or so. $175 for 'software' to replace a door window switch. My next cars will be Toyotas....read morehide
