I ordered this new as no blue ones with the Selective Ride Control existed yet. I paid $4k under MSRP. It replaced a stock auto trans 2007 LT1. The main reason for the upgrade was the desire for a blue color and the refinements to the automatic shift pattern and some extras like OnStar and MP3 jack input and the most important, the Selective Ride Control (SRC). The SRC gets you a computer assisted Lotus based magnetic damped suspension (shock like dampers have a magnetic liquid that changes dampening based on active computer 4 wheel sensor input) for better control of ride over pot holes, wheel hop over other bad road surfaces, provides very flat anti-sway characteristics during hard cornering and prevents nose dive durig hard braking. There is a round knob on the lower console with two settings, tour and sport. This option also gets you what use to be called the Z51 brake package (larger floating calipers with larger cross drilled rotors). One issue the stock LT1 had was the need for more brake and this option gets you both the superior suspension and the larger brakes. The stock 07 LT1 had too much lean on hard long cornering with under-steer. The new 10 with the SRC corners very flat like it has a huge anti-sway bar but still rides pretty smooth for a high performance car. The real treat is during cornering and hitting a road defect like RR tracks or a pot hole, there is no wheel hop. At first you don't notice it as the base ride is about the same as a LT1 but the more aggressive you get the more the suspension keeps the car steady and stable up to the cars rated 1 g rating. So you get a race car like suspension but still have a gentle sport luxury ride! The new shift pattern on the 6 speed automatic keeps the engine closer to its torque curve rather than EPA mileage. Its most noticeable from a stop and entering a corner and at cruse speed on the interstate, less downshifting and more on its power curve. The nice addition is when in paddle shift sport mode is in top gear you can hold the shift up paddle for a few seconds and it goes back to full auto mode. Brakes, just feels like it has lots more stopping power now and less fade. The engine is more or less the same as the 07 with 30 more horse power, always nice to have. Top speed is now up to 190 MPH according to Chevy. The exhaust note has more of a rasp to it on power application but its whisper quiet under idle and normal driving. The interior is pretty much the same with a carbon composite look console insert (could be real as the pattern is visible), there are side impact air bags built into the seat backs and the radio has XM built in with controls on the steering wheel now. The On Star is in the rear view mirror with a digital compass, which is nice to have. Its a much better handling, riding, shifting and stopping version of the earlier C6 chassis with more power and some nice interior additions. I had no problems with the 07 at 20k miles and have no reason to suspect any different with the 10....read morehide
