Although I think Chevy did a great job updating the styling - Hurrah! No wood grain!!! I haven't seen a model with rear A/C. That option exists on similar and even smaller sized vehicles and that's a deal breaker for my children even though the media options look great!
If it's not an option for the 2010 model - would it be added for 2011??...read morehide

Best crossover on the market. Great gas mileage. Interior is well done and comfortable. Very quiet and performs well. I don't know why anyone would consider an import. GM is building world class cars and while it was built in Canada, the money goes to an American Company, not overseas.

Movable back seat is great; interior detailing on leather is very upscale for this price range. Two-tone interior is stunning & very tasteful. Even the LT model is well equipped for the price.

I test drove the 4 cylinder FWD and the 6-cyl AWD models of the Equanox recently. Both handled very similarly. The ride was very smooth and the car was very quiet. The 6-cyl seemed to be slightly quieter than the 4 cyl.
I thought the 4 cylinder had plenty of power, it was certainly noticeably peppier than most economy cars I've driven, like the Focus or my previous 1.8L Pontiac Vibe. I'd say it's almost as peppy as my current 2.4L Pontiac Vibe (which is fast) but it gets better mileage than the 2.4L Vibe and is much larger and much more comfortable and I'm thinking of trading up.
The 6 cyl has boatloads of power; I mean that thing goes and it feels solid. I think it's more power than I personally need on a day-to-day basis and I'd much rather have the extra fuel economy at this point.
The interior layout is very well thought out and it's very spacious. I could not find anything annoying in the controls. The Equinox handles like a vehicle that's much smaller. I thought the FWD car handled slightly better than the AWD on dry pavement. The braking was also very nice for such a large vehicle.
I'm just getting used to the 5-spd auto on my 2009 vibe, and I can say that having a 6 spd. auto will take a tad more adjusting. I think the transmission was fairly responsive but it does shift a lot, particularly if you're changing demands on the power frequently. The accelerator pedal is a bit touchy, I think it could be softer.
Since these were just test drives, I can't attest to the actual mpg or reliability, although I will say that my current 2009 car took about 4000 miles to break in before it reached it's peak mileage.
I recommend you at least test drive one if you're interested. I think you'll be pretty impressed. I was....read morehide

Purchased this crossover as new and could not be happier. There is a lot of interior room for passengers and cargo. The ride is very smooth and all of the layout of controls was well thought out.

I have had for about a month, front speaker already bad to be replaced. Fuel economy has not been as advertised yet; 1400 miles(24)mpg includes one trip over 300 miles. Safety features such as tilt mirrors and back up device should be on all models. I have enjoyed the car so far and would recommend it....read morehide

I have had a 4 cyl. FWD 1LT trim a little over a week. When decelerating when shifting from 4th to 3rd, and 3rd to 2nd, it makes the vehicle slow down a ton and the RPMs go up about 1000, like it is shifting way too soon. You can't coast with it under 30 mph. It does it in regular and ECO modes, though the shift points are different between the two modes (about 25mph in regular mode from 4th to 3rd gear, and 20mph in ECO mode). Probably largely because of this my gas mileage is horrible (teens). Also, at about 17mph (in ECO and regular modes) it jitters from front to back, almost like fuel is being cut off. These things are not normal.
I've heard of others experiencing the same thing with the shifting, but haven't found out one way or the other if others have noticed the jittering. Also, the microphone above the driver was bad when bought and needs replacing.
Other than the horrible transmission (hope it is actually a problem so it can be fixed under warranty and isn't just "how it is") and microphone being bad from the get-go, it is a terrific vehicle. The electric gas pedal is a little numb, but not bad considering it is a family SUV and not a car. Electric steering has a good feel to it above 10mph, understeers under that. Very quiet. Audio system controls and display are great. Love the Bluetooth and Vehicle Info. Center features. Interior styling is better than anything else in its class, and it is price-competitive and bigger than others in the class.
If this transmission problem gets fixed it will be an A. Soft dash materials would make it an A+, but at least the hard plastic doesn't look or feel cheap. As is with the crappy transmission, I'd give it a C. Like I said, I hope it is actually a problem and can be fixed to make it feel and act like a normal tranny.
If anyone else has this problem or notices these things please post your experiences. Conversely, if you have a 4 cyl. and don't have these problems please post....read morehide

I chose this car for two main reasons, interior room and gas mileage. Both are great with this car. I'm 6'6" tall and I have so much room! It does take a few weeks to get use to the 4 cyl engine, but if you mostly do city diving don't worry, it has a peppy first gear that helps. It just shifts alot after that. It cruises great on the highway! I have found that, due to the six speed transmission the car seems to coast a lot when you get off the gas to slow down so you'll be using the brakes a bit more. Compared to other crossover vehicles this one seems to sit lower and the front air dam has scraped on a couple of driveway, but I intend to put some slightly bigger tires on it to help this. I also had to change the antenna in order to get the car in the garage....read morehide

I drove my husband crazy because I really wanted a Suzuki Grand Vitara Luxury at first and he wanted a Ford Escape but then when we saw and drove this Chevy we both fell in love and bought the all wheel drive v6 model. We both liked it better than the other two. The only downside was that we couldn't gotten a much better deal on a 2009 but we both thought that the 2010 was worth the extra money....read morehide

Just bought this vehicle 2 week's ago and my wife love's it. She say's she feels like nobody can touch her on the road hahaha. Anyways this SUV has a great feel when driving and people look at it at the stop light. Power is a little low as previously stated but MPG makes up for that. Rear view camera is very cool, sliding rear bench is a plus as well, lot's of space in the back also. Overall this car is more than just a grocery getter, it's one of those vehicles you kind of have to do a double take....read morehide
