Ford has something good hear. it has a feel that is so suprising and something that your do not get in alot of cars any more. It has to be felt to understand what i mean by that though, but on to the review. This duratec 2.5 is a very good I4 and much more responsive than the OR25DE 2.5 in my altima. Fords 6F35 transmission is amazing, shifting is seamless and it is very responsive, it downshifts instantly when you stop the gas. The ride is good aswell. The Brakes on this car are great but take a little getting used to, a little tap of them and you begin to slow but a little more and your already stopped. you can tell its been european tested with its steering, very tight and extremely responsive. overall i would say 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Go out and by american. Get a ford Fusion!!!...read morehide

i would have nothing but good to say if the ford company didnt hide the fact that the wheels are cheap plastic covers.

Good performance for a 4 cyl...drove my new Fusion on a 5000 mile trip...lots of mtn driving, but still got 35.8 mpg. The Fusion rides and handles very well! Does really well when passing other vehicles...gets up and moves!
Back seat room is ample as well as good trunk room.

This vehicle is an amazing purchase for the money. If you are looking for a sharp looking vehicle with ample power, the newest technology, great mpgs, and doesn't look like all the other mid-size sedans out there. This is the one for you. I love getting into it everyday for work. The styling of this vehicle will have legs too. Some of the "sporty" sedans out there will start to look outdated in about 3 years. I bet you, this car will continue to look relevent 10 years down the road. My complaints about the Fusion are minor. I wish my SE version had outside temperature (it has a compass but not the temp). I don't like the location of the buttons used to control the information screen in the instrument cluster. They are tucked down and to the left of the steering column and hard to get to if you want to switch between trip miles and mpg read outs. Lastly, I enjoy the center stack alot except for right at the bottom when it curves inward away from the shifter. The design makes it just slightly awkward to get to some of the climate control buttons. A design similar to the Mazda6 center stack would have looked and functioned a tad bit better than what is currently there. With the outside looking so flashy just a TAD (and I do mean TAD because this an AMAZING vehicle) more focus on making the interoir have a little more pizzaz or refinement would have made it something beyond special. I love this car. Give it a test drive and you will see that it has more get up and go then the similar model Malibu, better syling and options than the Camary and Accord, not as flamboyant as a Mazda6 (even though the Ford is striking), and again gets the best mpgs in the entire class. Seriously take a look at the only US automaker who didn't go bankrupt and is producing some stellar vehicles. Their quality ratings are up with honda and toyota at this current date as well. Never thought I would be a Blue Oval boy, but as of this date you can count me a Ford man....read morehide

I had heard great things about the Fusion and I drive alot of miles so the Hybrid was very appealing at 41mpg city. When I drove off with the new car, I was shocked at how refined it was. It is so quiet and rides very smoothly. Ford really did hit one out of the park with this car. I am currently getting 47mpg average and am very pleased!!!
It does not drive like a Hybrid though. You would honestly never know the difference(except the mpg's and the awesome guages). It is so much fun to drive as well and looks great
Bottom line is you give up nothing to get better mileage. I really have to tip my hat to Ford, and what makes it better is that they are an American Company that my tax dollars are not supporting!!!...read morehide

I test drove this car along with a the Focus SES (manual and auto both) yesterday. The Focus was too anemic. I was quite satisfied with the 2.5L 4-cylinder in the Fusion. I question the 6-spd manual though. I drove at hwy speed and didn't see much difference at 60mph in 5th or 6th. ( Like 2300rpm in 5th and 2100rpm in 6th).
The shifter throw is too long.
Gas pedal was almost hidden in center stack.
I did think that it was kind of silly that you can't get leather with the 6-spd manual transmission. (Maybe I can special order)
I think for has done an amazing job building a mid-size sedan on par with Honda and Toyota. Its Sun and Sync package is great.
I am strongly considering buying this car, I'm just not sure I want to give up my V8 Mustang yet though....read morehide

We rented this car for a vacation trip to Kansas City. First time I entered it I struck my head on roof. Didnt think much of it until I had to struggle to exit. Now I am only 5ft5 and I weigh 200lbs. Car drove excellent and had plenty of pep for an automatic. AC was ice cold!..We put 1005 miles on in a week and other than the crunch of getting in and out had 0 problems....read morehide

This car is so quiet, and the ride is very smooth. Best of all, I'm still on my very 1st tank of gas, and expect to get over 600 miles on this tank! All the gadgets and displays are fun -- the navigation system, the rear-view camera, the 12-speaker sound system, the dashboard displays, the ambient lighting. I love Satellite Radio!
My only complaint is the seat. I don't like the way the headrest is positioned too far forward -- I can't tilt my head back at all. And I'm tall, so when I turn on the A/C, the airflow from the vent hits me in the neck -- that's as high as it will go....read morehide

I have had my car now for 2 months and have not found anything that I don't like about it. I am really glad that I chose to buy it. I had a different more expensive car the I intended to buy, but I chose the Ford Fusion instead and I am glad that I did.

This car is quite, powerful, handles great, and is getting 32.8 MPG average in local driving the 1st 2k. This new Fusion beat all of the other vehicles we tested in every respect. Was a Honda Man before and still own 2 Hondas but will consider Ford when I replace them. It is so much better than the Honda Accord EXL we had before in most every respect....read morehide
