I feel like I'm driving a Lincoln. I'm really impressed with this car. Love the keyless start, the Sony system is wonderful. My last few cars were Escapes, and was hesitant about buying a car again, but I'm so happy with my Taurus. So much luxury for the money. Even my 16 yr old grandson is crazy about it. I can't say enough good things about this car....read morehide

I knew I would love this car from the minute is saw pitures of it. It took me to just see it in person to buy it. So much power and pep and so many options. Everything is within your reach, though the dials for the nav system are situated in a bad spot. And I really was hoping for the money, I would see lots of leather. None on the wheel or dash or doors to speak of. But overall, it is now my favorite car. Love this car. I got the black on black. The display screen is easy to get to know and the quietness is great. Ford is right on track with this car. Now I can garage my older SHO........read morehide

We bought an SEL AWD and it was really awesome at first. Its a major upgrade compared to the 09 model. But the 09 Acura TL that we have is far better than this. Dont believe too much on the commercials not unless you try to compare it yourself.

I own both the 2009 and the 2010 Taurus Limited. The difference is night and day between the two cars. With what ford has done with the new Taurus this car can compete in any market. We are so apt to compare domestic cars against the imports. Well now I think the tide is turning with what Ford has done. The exterior styling is an eye catcher. The styling and features in the interior places you in a cockpit of luxury with all the eye catching details and fun gadgets. My wife who has never owned an american car before this year is absolutely in love with hers. I highly recommend this car. Can't wait to see what they come up with next year....read morehide

I just picked up my new SEL AWD yesterday and I'm still in awe with the car. Although it's a fleet car, there's no doubt I'd purchase this myself. My prior 2007 Ford 500 is a far cry from this redesigned 2010 Taurus. Oddly enough, I've had folks stare and sometime stop me and ask what kind of car I was driving.
Congrats to you Ford for producing such a great car!...read morehide

I've waited to write this review until I had put 1000 miles. Some may appreciate a little background with my new car experiences over the last decade but to keep it short I'll just say that I've driven nine (9) new vehicles in ten years. They've ranged from large & medium sized SUV's, several cars, sport and sedans, and a pickup truck or two.
I replaced my 2009 Mustang with the 2010 Taurus SHO, ordered with the 401A PEP package. This is the middle options package for the SHO model that includes all the standard Taurus Limited features and adds the sun roof, Sony 12 speaker sound system, and heated & cooled seats. If you've never had cooled seats and park your car outdoors during the day mid-summer, these are a must have...like having underwear with a little fan in them...lol...sorry, I digressed there for a moment, but you get the point. I also opted for the optional 20" tires & wheels.
First thing you will notice is that the vehicle does not have a conventional key. With the key fob in tow, in your pocket or purse, just step on the brake pedal and push the start button and off you go. How cool is that! Same goes for shutting off the vehicle, just press the button. The keyless entry system functions the same way, if you have the fob, just touch the key pad outside the door and the vehicle will unlock. There's a truck release button above the license plate bracket that also works the same. I'm sure some of you are asking well what happens if the battery were to go dead, well, inside the key fob is a hidden "real key" that will allow you to open the door the old fashion way to pop the hood, clever! The Taurus SHO also has the automatic "open windows and sunroof" feature that operates when you press and hold the unlock button on the fob from a distance.
Performance... this car MOVES, plain and simple. 365 horsepower and 350 ft lbs of torque, hit the gas pedal and hold on. The AWD (all wheel drive) system puts all that horsepower to the road with little wheel spin with 0-60 in a little over 5 seconds.
Driving... compared to the Mustang this is a significant step up in size, yet the fuel economy of this direct injected turbo charged V-6 engine is similar to the V-8 with better overall engine performance. I will say that having 4 doors again and excellent passenger room is a significant plus if you have a family. The Mustang is fun, but the SHO gives you both, performance and comfort. I've driven the Milan, Fusion, Malibu, etc. and while excellent products, the new Taurus is a big step up, which one should expect for the entry level price of about $25K
The build quality is "spot on", interior fit and finish are top notch. Interior sound is very quiet when compared to anything I've driven in recent years. This is very nice when using the hands free SYNC system for those phone calls or listening to music.
I wouldn't mind if the steering was a bit more responsive, meaning I think you turn the steering wheel a bit more for the car to react, but then again I'm comparing that to the Mustang which is super tight. Thinking about it a little more, it's really not a fair comparison as the two vehicles are design for very different purposes.
All-in-all, I've rated the 2010 Taurus SHO 5 Stars, given the price point, performance and luxury that nothing on the road can touch. If your looking for a vehicle that has pretty much everything you could want in a vehicle, you can go look at the rest, but buy the Taurus, you won't be disappointed....read morehide

The new styling is great and far superior to the boring plain Avalon or the odd looking new LaCrosse. The 3.5 V6 and 6 speed automatic give plenty of power in all situations but it's dissapointing that top speed is governed at only 108. The interior and dash are striking and well thought out expect for the center console which is too wide and sometimes intrudes on your leg. Seat comfort and quietness are better than before and the trunk is still way larger than Avalon and LaCrosse. I would suggest to Ford to come up with more interior color choices than tan and gray, to slim down the center console an inch or so and a glovebox light should be offered at least on upper end models. Other than that this is an impressive car from Ford....read morehide

Loved this car. Got it fully loaded an out the door for about $ 44,000 dollars. Comparable to the BMW 4 series and a fraction of the cost. Ford has finally got the quality issues resolved at least for this car. Fit and finish are first rate. We averaged about 19 mpg for a 500 mile trip to Indiana and back. Trunk is very roomy for a sedan. All the safety features are a must for a car this quick....read morehide
