My last car was a Honda Accord that I drove for 180K miles without any major problems, only normal wear and tear. I drive less now and decided to get a Civic. I considered buying a Hybrid but added up the total cost of ownership and decided that even though I care about the environment the return was not there. If everyone was driving a Honda or Toyoto (my wife has an Avalon) there would be no energy problem or polution problem caused by cars. I understand why people need trucks for work and SUVs for a large family. I don't understand why someone needs a four wheel drive 350 truck to drive to work that has never hauled anything. Its like a bully on the playground. Someday they may grow up....read morehide

Admittedly, I've only had it a couple days, but I'm pleased overall.
A couple things surprised me. First, though it was no radio or stereo system (which I didn't even realize was a possibility), the basic model is still equipped with speakers. Very weird. Also, it has an integrated radio antenna.
Second, no AC and no power locks. The car has power windows, but no radio or power locks. Very strange.
Otherwise, the car has met my expectations. Good stuff....read morehide

this car is a real beautiful car.however the transmission is jerky and the gas mileage is disappointing so far.I only have 1800 miles on it so i am hoping by the time this car is fully broken in these issues will be resolved.
