I just purchased this car last Saturday and overall impression is okay. The looks are cool and has a lot of space with the hatchback, so I like that. When I approached my first gradient on the freeway I was really disappointed. The car felt like it struggled even with the econ mode off and I was getting passed by cars that appeared smaller. I'm still breaking the car in so maybe that will change...I hope.
Fuel economy is impressive though. I've put on 430 miles, averaging 49.4 mpg with 1/3 tank left...not bad. Seats are comfortable and the car handles well around turns and corners. Six speaker audio system sound is not bad and the USB jack is a plus to connect my iPhone.
If you are used to driving a car that delivers 140+ or more horse power then forget buying this. If your #1 goal is to save gas and don't mind getting passed up on the highway then consider this car....read morehide

My wife and I took a loaded EX Insight out for an extended over night test drive and were left cold. The awkward styling compromises rear visibility with the odd split rear window. The tiny over worked engine does not sound or feel pleasant. The CVT transmission does not work well at all in this car. The dash looks like it was pulled from an episode of Star Trek and is very distracting and goofy looking. The seats are not shaped well for either more 6' frame or my wifes short stocky build. They grew uncomfortable sitting in them for over an hour. Many interior bits look and feel cheap. The carpeting is so thin it would be better placed on my porch. The door panels are plasticy and there is not much in the way of sound insulation. Even the sheetmetal feels wafer thin. If you lean on it or tap it a tin can sound erupts. This was the only car in recent memory that we couldn't wait to bring back to the dealership. Out next stop will be the Hyundai store....read morehide

Getting 44 mpg overall so far with 300 miles driven so far. Totally happy with that. The navigation and bluetooth are awesome. I mean I can turn on the AC with a voice command! For 23k you cannot beat the EX-Navi model. I have found that even though the acceleration is slow you can shift into "S" mode on the gear and it helps alot. Of course you use more gas but you wont have some jerk on your tail while accelerating....read morehide

We have been driving our Insight for a little over a week and have been getting between 51-52 mpg commuting through suburban streets, Route 1, back roads and village streets. On our only highway driving we averaged 56.7 mpg. I am halfway through my first tank of gas. I am getting 41 mpg. Love the shifter pedals on steering column. Has plenty of power and rides good. Overall I would recommend to anyone wanting to save gas.

I was excited to buy a hybrid without spending a fortune. I've had my car for a month and consistently average 47-48 mpg. I have a long drive to work, about 80 miles roundtrip, mostly highway driving at or slightly below legal speed of 65mph. The car is comfortable and fun to drive. The computer information panel is easy to read and provides a lot of feedback on how you are driving, actually "teaching" you to drive more efficiently. Driving efficiently does feel different and I think people aren't use to that. Eccelaration is adequate and will safely get you into speeding traffic however it's not a rocket ship---but then that wouldn't be efficient, would it? The car delivers what it promises. Honda quality throughout. I thoroughly enjoy the ride and smile when I fill up after driving 400 miles, using roughly 8.5 gallons of gas and spending less than 20 dollars!!!...read morehide

I have this car for 3 days now. I just love it. Perfect size for me.
It is a little slow, but its a Hybrid !!!!!! If you want a fast car you are not going to buy a Hybrid.
I get about 45 MPG, that is almost double what I got with the car I traded in.
Love the dashboard and the teaching function. It takes the LEAD out of my foot for better gas mileage....read morehide
