I have had my 09 Veracruz for just over 4 months. The vehicle handles very well for its size. It drives more like a car than an SUV. I had test driven several vehicles in this class and finally choose this one. The gas mileage is as described by the manufacturer although I wish it could be better (18.5 mpg) but I was used to driving a car that got 28 mpg. I will take it on a long trip in a few weeks so will get to see if I can really get 24 mpg. There is adequate room for 7 to sit relatively comfortably. It can be a challenge for small children to get in/out b/c of the vehicle height and placement of the handles. I have the BlueConnect feature (bluetooth) and XM radio which I love. The only real con I have experienced is that the integrity of the body panels is not the best. I have had several instances where a car door or other object has lightly hit one of the body panels (doors) and it has dented. Thankfully the paint did not chip or scratch but I was surprised by the fact that a dent appeared with such a small amount of force. Someonelse posted similar finding so this is definitley something to be aware of. I make it a point to park away from other vehicles to avoid any further damage. All in all I like the ride, the style and comfort and would recommend it if you need something of this size. Not sure about the reliability yet so I cannot really comment....read morehide

We have had the Veracruz only for about 2 months and can say it is everything we were looking for. The gas mileage is what the sticker said it would be. The comfort and ride is great. We looked at several other cars including the GMC Acadia before making our decision. We read the reviews of the Acadia and the biggest eye catcher was, they were not getting the gas mileage expected. This car is very maneuverable, has a smooth ride, and is very roomy. The gas milage runs about 18.5mpg. I feel like Im driving a smaller car because it turns so easily. I enjoy driving this vehicle. The air get very cold. The only con I have is that the tread on the tires wear uneven and the only way I know this is it makes a slight sound. There is no vibration in the wheel and no pull. I took it to a tire store and they said that the hyundai SUVs are known for that. Ive had my Veracruz for almost 3 years and it is still a tight, sturdy car....read morehide

I like the value of the veracruz. The front seats are very comfortable,
It has been very reliable so far. I put a lot of miles on it, and have driven it in the hills and on very rocky terrain. I like how it drives. We have lots of snow where I live, and I have never had problems driving in the winter. I especially like that the people in the back seat can control their own heating and cooling.
