I have a 2007 CX-7 which I lease. The AC compressor froze up which runs the main belt, causing so much strain on the car that it caused severe engine damage on top of the $1,500 dollar AC compressor that needs replaced. The warranty expired 10,000 miles ago, so its on us...and the Mazda dealer even told us that this is a common problem with CX-7. We baby this car, it has 46,000 miles on it and we are giving it back to mazda because we cannot afford to fix the POS!!! So with the mechanical damage, and breaking the lease early we will be screwed for years to come paying mazda back! Buyer BEWARE...please do not buy a Mazda!!!...read morehide

Bought 2010 Touring AWD, all problems with the 2007/2008 models have been addressed. 2009 model seems to be solid. Avoid these early year models due to serious problems with the air conditioning system. Unfortunately, Mazda refused to acknowledge this situation and have a lost a loyal base in the compact sporty SUV sector. People, you must drive this car, the only compact SUV that can compete with this car is the Audi Q5, otherwise, you are getting the most bang for the buck. Acceleration is solid, however, in stop and go traffic you feel the turbo lag. Leather seats, ergonomics top notch. Warning, the factory tires from Good Year or Bridgestone are garbage. Will last 15-20K miles at most. Trunk space, 1 medium suit case, 2 carry ons, and golf clubs. Hey, I'm not travelling cross country, I got the mini-van for that. Recommend buying the extended warranty, most cars start having problems, right after the warranty expires....read morehide

I've had my CX-7 for 2 years, and I have not experienced any problems....None what-so-ever. However, the milage fuel is rather low, and the tires appear to be wearing premature..I have 19,000 miles on this car, and the tires look as if they might need replacing within the next 6 months. This is a fun car to drive, and the styling is outstanding. Having said this, I wish Madza would spend another $500 dollars, and upgrade the interior. There is simply too much plastic. Also, perhaps a CX-7, that has a Super Charge, rather than a Turbo Charge, would give more milage. The Millenia S, Miller Cycle Engineer would work well in this vechile. Madza should put this engine in this vehicle. That would be a blast....read morehide

The car is probably the worst car you can get on the market. I am so disappointed with it, especially that after bringing it back to the dealer and hearing that they'll take it back, but for $8k less than I paid for it. Do not buy this car, do not buy Mazda!!!

Ele, Blue, bought new in 2007 the Sport with ele. seats fog lights, upgraded rv mirror and cargo cover/pad. First trip 2100 miles next day. Got 25.4 MPG. Can get 4 sets of golf clubs and 4 people in it. Would buy another, but with moon roof. In 2007 leather seats were poor quality...got cloth. Very nice and durable. Dissapointed in tire life. (Goodyear). Can use reg. or Hitest. Usually fill up at 1/2 tank and rotate octane. Also rotate tires every other 3000mi. oil change.....read morehide

Just bought CX-7 I sport with the convenience package (heated seats, bluetooth, rear back up camera, sunroof) and I LOVE it. I traded in my 2001 Lexus RX300 for something more economical for our little family. I am so pleased with everything about the car, the interior design, the handling, the comfort. I didn't want a wagon or an SUV, this was a great in between. My toddler even thinks it's cool. Zoom Zoom!...read morehide
