I have been researching the E350 and the Lexus GS350 RWD for the last few years. I have also checked out the BMW series, and though its performance and handling is very good, I didn't think it stood up to the first two. I have driven all three in the past, but recently wanted to get down to business and choose one for a purchase. I began with the Lexus. It actually beats the E350 in a few areas (e.g., slightly better pricing, slightly better mileage, more horsepower). However, the test drive, while impressive, was not really a home run for me. Also, the body style is pretty drab. I then took on the E350. On the test drive I noticed the acceleration was not quite the same as the Lexus, though it was close. The handling, seat comfort, and suspension on the E350 was much better. It has a toggle button that allows you to choose between comfort and sport driving, which slightly changes the experience of driving in both suspension and acceleration. The E350 styling is dramatically improved over the Lexus. I was initially put off by the fact that I couldn't get leather interior (the dealership was stocking only MB Tex, a simulated leather), though after inspecting the result, I was won over. Chalk up a victory for both the environmentalists and this discerning buyer. The next order of business was to negotiate the cost. Thanks to internet research and multiple dealer inquiries, I was able to get an aggressive price quote to several local dealers. The result was an offer that brought the cost on par with my beloved GS350 series. The deal was struck and I drove home with a beautiful E350 last night. I am reveling in the experience right now, and have committed to two things this evening: the first is to respond to a dealer survey to commend the local Mercedes dealer staff on the experience I had with them, and the second is to wander out to the garage and wipe my new E350 with a diaper and remind it how much I love it. Ain't life great?...read morehide

This is my third E-Class since 2000. It performs better than the last two cars. This can be attributed to the sport suspension I opted for this time. Mileage is good, but not as good as my 2006 model. The trunk liner takes away from the trunk space by leaving a large gap on the sides between the liner and the outer skin. A set of golf clubs will not fit sideways in the trunk....read morehide

It floats all over the road, has no feedback to the driver, terribly underpowered, and you just about throw a disc trying to reach the center console while driving.

The car is nice. Somewhat unconfortable but still manegable to drive. But buyers, beware of the the problem with rear breaks. The rear breaks will wear out way to fast. About a months after I bought my E-Class breaks started to squick very loudly. It is very annoying sound. By the way dealer will not admit there is a known problem with the rear breaks....read morehide

Let me say this the Mercedes E-Class redesign for 2010 makes it one of the ugliest cars on the road.
The instrument paneling is not designed very well for the driver to be able to keep their eyes on the road as well as make a change to the radio station. The seat were way too uncomfortable as well. ??It doesn't have nearly enough room for someone with long legs either! ??If you're looking to buy this car don't bother! Go look at a Infinity or Lexus which getes better gas mileage anyways, has better looks both inside and on the outside, and offer a way better value then Mercedes!...read morehide

Lots of problems. I am so sorry I bought the 2010 E-class and paid cash. I wish I would have gotten another vehicle like a Lexus or BMW, or at least been smart enough to get this on a lease so I could hand the keys back in.

I drove the dealer promo car when it was first released. It had the contour seats, with heat and massage. The lane departure warning, blind spot indicator, voice activated everything, smart key tecnology, etc. I loved it then, but said okay, I'll wait. We drove the other models without all of the upgrades, and it they were just as good, but I decided to wait some more. Last month, we just happened to be at the dealership and we found a beautiful, black on black with all of the options. So we got it! I absolutely l LOVE my E-Class. The ride is incredible. It's smooth and classy for me and sporty and fast for my hubby (when I let him drive it). Not only is it another MB work of art, all of the technological features just set it above any other vehicle out there and it's so much fun to drive. I usually change vehicles every couple of years, but I can see myself in this one for a very long time. If you haven't driven the new E-Class, you are totally missing out. Take one for a test drive and I guarantee you will fall in love....read morehide

What a car! For 50,000 bucks you can`t find anything better. This car is underpriced. Mine got all the options and I would have been ready to pay $5000 to $7000 more for this quality of building. The ride is impressive. It`s not a toy car an la BMW nor a me-too luxio sedan a la Audi or Lexus. This is a Mercedes Benz and you have ton take the wheel to understand what that means. Kudos to Benz engineers! They have a winner and I am happy I made this choice. I really encourage anyone looking for real value to trest drive an E Class before making a buying decision. Don`t read all the hooplas about Bimmers `sportiness`. German cars are the best, But Benz is really THE BEST. I feel like a king since I got mine a month ago....read morehide
