We bought a new GL450 and are extremely happy with the product. It is easy to drive and rides very smooth. The technology in this SUV is incredible. It is almost as if the vehicle is one step ahead of your brain when driving. We are very satisfied.

Pros

Even though this is full size SUV, it is still easy to drive and park like a car.

The inside compartment storage could be a little bigger.

We upgraded from the minivan since the kids have grown up and it is very easy for my wife to drive around. This is our second MB and we are very happy with it. The duel TV screen is a big hit with the kids and the handsfree communication is very helpful. I wish the side view mirrors were a little bigger and there were some more inside storage compartments for keeping the smaller stuffs. The other consideration would be second row captain chairs. Otherwise, if somebody is looking for a large size SUV this is the one to go for. Make sure u buy with the running boards, it's a must for the height of the car....read morehide

We have always purchased American SUV's like GMC Envoy, Yukon, and FORD Expedition. You cannot campare American SUV's to a Mercedes. First is the safety features, comfort, and reliability of a Mercedes. Second, GMC and FORD try to sell their vehicles for just a few thousand below European SUV's. All of the options on our Mercedes GL450 came standard, comapred to us spending $10,000 in upgrades that we had previously spent on GMC and FORD. And as far as comfort, both inside and out the GL450 are much higher quality. The ride of the vehicle cannot be compared on how smooth it rides to the roller coaster ride on the American SUV's. GMC and FORD need to take lessons from Mercedes on how to build and reliable motor with excellent proformance and safety and it's looks. I will never buy another American SUV for as long as we have children at home....read morehide

I own a Lexus and decided to try out this new SUV. I must admit, the look does get many attention. it is a very roomy vehicle for 7 adults. It does not sound or feel like a diesel. I was driving around my home town (Fairfax, VA) for about a week and I am average 22.7 mpg!! for a large SUV, that is excellent. I heard that this vehicle eliminate 80% of the Carbon monoxide. I can tell you this much, it smell a big different when I leave this GL350 engine running in my car garadge. In terms of reliability, time will tell, since I have only own this car for about two weeks. If you are looking for an alternative to a hybrid, I recommend GL350....read morehide

This is my 3rd model that I have purchased from Mercedes Benz and I have to say it's my favorite. I love how you can open and shut the back door with your key or from the inside of the truck, lots of storage, I like how you can put the seats up or down by pressing a button, I like being able to look up phone contacts on the radio screen and the handsfree is great, I use my ipod all the time and the navigation is very user friendly. I bot this SUV after Escalade. I have to say it is roomy and easy to drive. I love the Escalade but my GL 450 is just as good if not a little better.

It is a great vehicle, the styling is fantastic, it handles superbly, has great cargo capacity and is extrmely comfortable. I've had no issues with my 550, highly recommend the GL.
