I got a stage 2 cobb tuning kit with a downpipe, access port, and turbo back exhaust and boosted my horsepower from 265 to 318 and my torque from 244 ft lbs to 312 ft lbs. Sound system on base model. Change the rear speakers with full range ones and it sounds way better.

I have my WRX for 4 months already. The performance of this car is amazing! acceleration, cornering and breaking are outstanding. I goes from 0-60 is just over 5sec and breaks from 60-0 in 107ft!!! (09 Corvette ZR1 106ft). I will buy again, and recomend Subaru to anybody that wants performance, reliabily and all wheel drive.

Note: It comes with summer tires, so you will need all season or winter tires to drive in the snow.

yahoo user Sergio gave a bad review about Subaru which I have to oppose. I believe he just have bad luck with the car and is not that all Subarus are unreliable. In fact Subarus are one of the most reliable brands. My 02 Impreza only viseted the dealer for a non critical repair in 7 years. My brother in-law has an 07 wrx and never had a problem, and I didnt have a problem with my new 09 wrx.
Gas millage is pretty good for a turbo all wheel drive. I can get 30mpg with cruise control driving at 65mph, and by the way the Hummer H3 does 10mpg according to car and driver....read morehide

I have own the car for over a month and at just 5 weeks had to returned it to the dealer for the 5th time for check engine, traction control, cruise control & tire pressure sensor problems. I just give up to Subaru! I can not understand how people can say Subaru is the Japanese pride, to me, is a shame! I have owned several japanese cars and none have been nearly as problematic as this one. I would definitely would NOT suggest anyone to buy a Subaru. This has been my worst experince of all. BTW, the car had just 396 miles on the ODO, so you can see the car have been pampered all this time. Ohhh, and if you expect to have good fuel efficiency, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!
A Hummer has better fuel efficiency than this car with a 1/4 of the space of the Hummer!...read morehide

I bought a brand new 2010 WRX sedan a week ago, trading in a 2006 2.5i sedan. The performance of the WRX is way, way, way beyond anything else I have owned. Car & Driver got a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds when they reviewed the 2009 model, so this is quite a quick car. I am pretty convinced I could hit 100mph on an on-ramp to the interstate I use regularly. (I am definitely convinced I would get a very expensive ticket if I tried.) Back to reality--I had zero problems in the four years with the 2.5i, and expect the same reliability in the WRX. Summer performance tires have been great on dry pavement, but will have to be replaced with snow tires in the very near future. Snow showers are in the forecast for a couple days from now, so I'll find out about the tires soon. I am still tweaking the driver's seat to get the best driving position. This seat is not as padded as was the Impreza's, but is not uncomfortable (my longest trip so far has been 100 miles). Acceleration is amazing...the turbo kicks in at 3500-4000rpm and you really feel it. Brakes are great. Handling/turning/lane changes are all great. More sound proofing in the trunk plus redesigned doors (around the windows) makes for a quieter ride (vs my Impreza), although you do still hear a fair amount of tire noise. As is always the case, the thin air of Colorado helps fuel economy. The trip odometer said I was averaging 35mpg on the highway last weekend, which will certainly offset the cost of premium gas a bit. The stereo always seems to get knocked in reviews, but my impression so far is that the sound quality is pretty good. I will admit to never having had a car with a truly outstanding sound system, so I don't know what I may be missing. But no complaints so far. I am still learning the layout of all the interior controls. While driving my car home from the dealer I managed to turn on the a/c when I thought I was reaching for the stereo. Still, the bottom line is that I love this car.

One final thought...despite some recent news headlines, we are still in a recession. Car buyers have the leverage now, not the dealers. In five minutes you can check the inventory of every dealer in your area. Email them about the car you are interested in. Get your financing lined up. The dealership I worked with gave me the WRX for less than invoice (roughly $23,500 before dealer handling and taxes) and gave me more than blue book for my trade. I have owned an '08 for almost a year. I have been very pleased with the performance of the rally-race inspired vehicle. Had a fender-bender, and it cost just over $500. The only drawback is that people gawk over it too much!
