Listen first things first, Make sure you dont settle on a price if you are not lazy and want to save thousands shop around and tell the dealer straight up what you are doing. I had two dealers in a price war with one another because they came right out and said we would rather make no money then let you go some where else. Trust me they kept dropping hold baks convaience fee and then documantation fee and so on. I started at 32,349 and bought for 28,811 on a car that some dealers told me people were paying sticker. And I got fog lights, splash gards, The fin on the trunk, All weather mats, Lock nuts And a Home link auto dim mirror.
I've only had the car a week but love it I'm getting 27.5 on the highway and 24.0 around town and the car is so comfortable and the handeling is insane.
BEST CAR ON THE PLANET FOR THE PRICE!!!

We've had this car for just over 2 months with 1500 miles and it's been a really great cruising vehicle. We love the looks it gets and everyone wants to know what it is and how we like it. Well, we love it overall. The handling is magnificent around corners and it is very powerful when put to the test. HOWEVER, the transmission(automatic 5 speed) hesitates too much. We've been told by Subaru that it is normal operation for the transmission to have an electronic delay for the shifting. This makes for a very annoying daily driver experience since you cannot make a rolling stop and expect the gas pedal to respond immediately. You have to wait a second or two for the transmission to find a gear and slam in to that gear and then hold on to your hats because you will be plastered in to your seat from the surge! We've already been back to the dealer to see if it has a transmission problem but have been reassured that this hesitation/jerk is normal. Don't know if we'd buy it again if given the chance just based on this issue....read morehide

This is the only car that I have ever owned that will wake me up in the middle of the night and say: Pssst....Pssst...We need to take a Drive! No matter how tired or under the weather I feel, I must comply. Simply a sensational ride! Tight like a sports car, but with that "cush" luxury ride as well. Acceleration & Torque is second to none. You can shift or use it in fully automatic modes(sports or standard). With this car you will indeed be king of the road. But with great Power comes great responsibility. This car is not for kids or irresponsible persons. Too much power for the undiscerning....read morehide

I was able to get my 2008 for invoice price, after choosing exactly what I wanted (spoiler added, dark color, 5 spd manual) - and actually had it delivered with the Homelink/compass/auto dimming mirror and armrest extension for free.
Heated leather 6 way power seats, adjustable lumbar, 6 disc in dash CD, mp3/WMA, heated mirrors, wiper defrosters, all wheel drive, 250+ hp turbo with more juice at the turn of a knob, dual zone climate control, moonroof, 17" polished wheels, fold down 60/40 rear seats... I could go on. These are BMW features, for a LOT less money. Go ahead - try and create a comparable Accord or Camry. You'd need to spend at least 5 grand more, and STILL wouldn't get the AWD.
The handling - it's fine for a midsize sedan. Tends to understeer, rolls in corners. The AWD makes up for this and will keep you out of trouble. But, for a guy like me who loves sports cars but needed something 'family friendly' it gets the job done. I wish I had the money for the Spec B upgrade which was available at the time and it's improved shocks/struts, but it wasn't in the cards.
All in all I got mine around invoice plus a generous trade in for my old Subaru Impreza. I have it serviced at the dealer which, in my case, has been fantastic. Prices are the same as local shops, but the dealer servicing is comprehensive, has really good hours (til 7 weeknights), is super friendly, and extends my warranty (specific to my dealership, I believe). I have 47k on it now, not a single hiccup. It's fun to drive every single day. I'm happy every time I get in it....read morehide

This is the fourth Subaru Ive owned. I have bought other vehicles, but always go back to the Subaru. I get compliments on my Legacy everywhere I go. The interior is roomy and comfortable. The gas mileage is great and the new transmission is awesome! Also, the options that come on this car for the price cannot be beat. I have never had a car at this price with so many options! Overall, this is a really fun car to drive. It cannot be compared to the Honda or Toyota, because the Subaru is much more stylish and has AWD which the competitors do not. I am looking forward to putting many many miles on my Legacy!...read morehide

You have to realize that every car is a compromise of sorts. For example, you can't have a sports car that gets outstanding fuel economy or a 4 door sedan that provides outstanding utility.
So, you aim for the middle, look for the best overall value and get the most car for the least dollars. To me, that's what the 2010 Legacy represents. I like the new interior with room comparable to Accord or Camry, really like the CVT and paddle shifters along with the AWD traction and handling which sets it far apart from all its competitors.
The CVT brings in comparable fuel economy as well, so when you add it up, along with its stellar history of reliability and trade-in value, the Legacy was too good to pass up. I would like to see the engineers find a way to put a little more power into the 2.5 engine as it is just okay in its present form.
Then again, I'm not expecting the car to burn off the line or slice and dice with the neighbor's Corvette, so the current 170 horsepower is okay but not as quick as its comparable competitor's power plants. The outstanding handling characteristics of the Subaru Legacy more than compensates for this slight annoyance....read morehide

Great car. Bought new have 1100 miles on it. Different than anything else on the road. Lots of value for the Money. I purchased Premium 2.5i with Moonroof and HK/Bluetooth package. This package comes with the I-pod connection package. Paid about $24K for this car out the door!
This car has Great seats and a nice firm ride. However, I find myself using the Paddle shifter to extract more power. Needs another 30 to 40 horses for Std engine, or better yet Subaru needs to offer the 2.5GT with the CVT....read morehide

Only have 500 miles on it, but love the way it handles like on rails. The power is great, we are in the mountains and wanted the extra power. the gas mileage is a lot better than expected we are getting 24 to 25 around town(country roads) and have received 28.9 hwy so far.The trunk is very large, the interior is nice alot more room than the earlier models you dont get that cramped feeling, the rear seating is very comfortable.Could use more front seat adjustment esp. the passenger seat. The paddle shifters on the sterring column are cool and fun and easy to use.We bought the fully loaded limited 3.6 model all options except navigation....read morehide

The car is ok if you just want to get a car, but the price is little high for what its worth. There are better cars in the market for their price. The styling is more American than Japanese. It resembles the Saturn brand or the Ford brand. The reliability of the engine is questionable and warranty is a headache to make dealers look for complains. Comfort too is wallowy for such soft suspension....read morehide

I'm a tall man (6'4"), as a result I have never owned a Subaru. For the 2010 Legacy Subaru ADDED about 3-4 inches of leg room. It makes all the difference and the Legacy is now roomy, like a luxury car. The AWD was the key selling point as this car is essentially a Honda Accord with AWD and more room, for $1000 less!! The 2010 Legacy has a smooth and quiet ride. The car rides like a luxury sedan, not a sports sedan. For me, this is preferred 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time I would prefer stiffer suspension and more supportive front seats. No biggie, my wife drives the car most of the time and she LOVES it. The Harmon Cardon 9-speaker sound system is crystal clear. I received the Costco price for the car which is about $1000 of of the MSRP. The cars are popular so I had to settle for my second color choice (wanted red purchased grey). Overall, I am very pleased with my first Subaru!!...read morehide
