Overall the car is a great vehicle.
I do not know what people mean by the EPS causing problems. We have had the car on the highway at 60,70 and 80 mph and it drives perfectly fine. Maybe Toyota did fix this issue on the 2010 models. We just have not experienced it.
I do admit the wheel does feel a little heavy, but nothing that is tiring to a driver or a safety hazard.
Car is more than roomy for my son and his friends, but we are not upwards of 6 feet, so that might be a reason why.
Love the front/rear spoilers as they give the car a sharp look. The radio (with XM) works well, the JBL sound quality is sharp. The bluetooth is a nice feature as you don't need to take your hands off the wheel to make phone calls. Steering wheel controls are nice and seem to work well.
We only have 1300 miles on the car, so I can not speak of reliability. I can say that we have no squeaks or rattles. But those may come in time. Hey, it's a car, it's mechanical. Also, we have no dings, so as far as that or paint chipping, I can't say it can't happen, but it hasn't yet.
Overall, if you are a looking for an economy car, then this is a great choice. I would also look at the Mazda 3, the Volkswagen Jetta or even the Ford Focus, as those cars also appear to be of decent quality. I just prefer Toyota at this time, as I have had super luck with my 2008 Camry. Plus the wife works at a Toyota dealership, so my options were somewhat limited....read morehide

I finally bought this car 2 weeks ago, after weeks of comparing this and a few other cars. I had read all about the steering complaints but went with the reliability of Toyota. I cannot be happier! The steering is sensitive and you feel the difference at higher speeds, however I do not see it as a problem for me. Steering in the city and parking is a breeze! I have already put 1400 miles on it and I feel safe and it has enough power for what I need. I do alot of driving, both highway and city and average about 36mpg.. You can't beat it! Stability and Traction Control are standard now also. I would recommend to anyone looking for something nice, reliable and great on gas....read morehide

During shopping for the cash for clunker program, I did extensive test drives of the small cars. I could not figure out why the Toyota Corolla was the top selling model in the cash for clunker program. The gray cloth and hard plastic interior really feels economical; the exterior style has not changed in 10 years (yes, there's a 10 year old Corolla parked right next to this brand new one and it's hard to tell the difference). The inside room is cramped; you don't make friends by carrying them in the back seats. The steering is the worst one. I can not feel the center; it feels like a lot free play you can turn the steering wheel left and right without actually turning the car; and you can feel a lot resistance as if the power steering assistant does not kick in. But once you turn it more than 30 degrees, all of a sudden it becomes very light. That's scary. A good steering control like the BMW feels just opposite; light in center and gradually harder off center to prevent you lose control of the car. The Ford Focus, Mazda 3, Honda Civic and Pontiac Vibe are all much more fun to drive and interesting to look at.......read morehide

I have been driving this car for al most 3 weeks and it DOES Wander mostly to the left and when corrected instead of staying straight it would go the the right. THis happens at 40 MPH. Make sure you test drive this vehicle at 40 or more on a flat road. THis could be a problem only with my car but it appears that people had this issue with the 2009 and now the 2010. I wish I would have known before purchasing . Be Cautious, don't get a lemon. And yes I took it the the dealer (Miami Florida -Expressway Toyota) but according to them there is nothing wrong with it....read morehide

Bought this Corolla in April. Visited dealerships for 10 times so far. After a month of driving, there are many rattles coming from the dashboard and seat belt area. Dealerships pretend they didn't hear anything. Car cant start three times already, and dealerships cant find any problem. Also, the weird EPS system wanders a lot on the highway. Toyota representative tells me that all rattles are NORMAL and the EPS system is working normally. DON'T expect you can get any solution from Toyota. So think seriously before you make your choice!...read morehide

Rattling comes from the dashboard, front seatbelt, front doors, and control panel a week after I purchased the car. Cheap plastic are all around the interior of the car. For people who hear rattling a month after they purchased the Corolla are lucky because they were happy for a month, but I am happy for less than a week!
Squeaking front seats are extremely annoying too!
Poor steering that cannot hold the car in high speed on the freeway. Plus, comparatively slow responding brake. With no doubt, Toyota Corolla is the least satisfied car in my life....read morehide

I got a 2009 to commute to work and it is excellent for that. Toyotas are known for their quality and this one should be no exception. One year and 17000 miles later, it's off to a good start, around 33 MPG combined driving, no repairs, cold air, and just what I hoped for---a good value for my money. Hope to keep for a long time....read morehide
