I'm a gen 2 Prius owner (2007) who recently upgraded to the gen 3 (2010), package III with the solar sunroof add-on. I have to say that there are some significant improvements over previous generations. The JBL sound system was the first thing I noticed, sounds great! Second was that the acceleration is much better, even in Eco mode. Although, I suppose people coming from a convential vehicle will think it is worse, but coming from another hybrid, it is much better. Adding the sunroof was the best decision, I think. The solar panels power the fan to keep the cabin from getting way too hot in the summer, plus you can turn on the A/C ahead of time (like a remote start, but only for A/C). Also, with the sunroof package, you get navigation and streaming bluetooth, which is awesome! I can just download my music to my Blackberry and hit play and the car picks up the signal to play it through the speakers. I can even use the controls on the steering wheel without a connection kit like the Ipod requires. The sound quality of the BT streaming is amazing, even better than the stereo. I'm so glad that I chose to upgrade to the 2010. The only complaint that I have is that there are fewer storage compartments than in previous Prius generation, but that is something that I can get over. Now, I'm just waiting for the hydrogen cars to hit the scene.........read morehide

We had a 2005 Prius and upgraded to this new 2010 V and there is really no comparison. We were concerned it would ride rough because of the 17 inch wheels, but didn't find this to be any problem. It has averaged for the first month( 1345 miles )54.4 mpg. We really love the hatch back with all we can put in our Prius. The other night we bought a new chase chair and the people who helped us load it in the Prius were shocked it went in the car.Our one month experence is one of extreme satisfaction with our choice. It is fun to drive with plently of power and yet great fuel economy....read morehide

This is my second Prius. I kept my 2007 model when I bought the 2010. Love all the technical stuff - solar roof, GPS, etc. Am having the rims replaced to get rid of cheap plastic wheel covers. Had to go to computer to find a rear bumper protector. Over all I think this is the best hybrid on the market....read morehide

It's no wonder why my friends rave about this car. They love their luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Range Rovers, but they got the Prius wanting to make a difference in the world. Regardless of your reasons I love mine. The only unfortunate thing is they go so fast that your color option is limited. I've heard some other dealers try to talk me out of a Prius complaining that the batter will go out, but my friends who have older models said they never had problems with theirs. So lets hope the 2010 wont have any flaws as well.
So far it drives great, yes it's quiet, but I don't mind that. It has a lot of fun gadgets. My solar sunroof can do all these cool things, by making the car cool down, my navigation turns into a camera so you can see from the back so you don't hit things. I haven't even began to explore all of them. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I can see why the Prius are so popular.
My only complain is they need to get more quantity for their allocations because they run out so fast, and people put holds on them for a fee....read morehide

I have had my 2010 Prius for less than a week so I am going to give you a first time hybrid owner's impression of this vehicle. First, the MPG is astounding. I traded my 2004 Pontiac Vibe for the Prius. The difference from the Prius (currently 55 mpg) and the Vibe (32 mpg/average) would be greater than the difference between a Vibe and a Hummer! Now the down side, if you haven't heard, the Prius is not a sports car. I have been driving in Econo mode alot, but the acceleration to this vehicle is borderline scary. This might change with driving in Power mode, but needless to say, Econo mode is sluggish off the line.
The driving experience with the Prius is pleasant. I will have to say that cabin noise is fairly loud. The visibility is fine, but the only concern is with the rear window. There is a bar in the rear window that can block head lights out of following vehicles. Not a huge safety concern, but can be disconcerning. The fit and finish of the vehicle is great. All of the controls are easy to reach and the gear shifter is pretty cool.
Probably even more surprising that the MPG is the room inside of this vehicle. At 6'3, I have plenty of room in this vehicle. When I was showing the Prius to some of my coworkers, they were all surprised of how much interior room there is. There are plenty of bins and storage compartments throughout the cabin. There are cup holders oddly placed on the doors. Since I had a Vibe and my wife drives a Corolla, my biggest complaint about the interior is the lack of a change tray or coin holder. I know that is minor and nitpicky, but it is something that I don't like.
The gizmos and gadgets for this car can't be beat. The Prius III comes equipped with Bluetooth. The bluetooth was very easy to pair with my phone, but I have yet to be able to upload my phonebook to the Prius. Voice quality is very high and according to my family, road and cabin noise is at a minimum. The computer screen is extremly handy and provides a lot of useful information about your MPG and usage. I have been keeping the Eco screen up to see when I am running on the battery, engine, or a mix.
Overall, this is excellent vehicle and I would buy this vehicle again in a heart beat....read morehide

The Prius offers exceptional value. It is about the size of a Malibu, Fusion, or Camry Hybrid (total interior volume) for much less money, and is far bigger and significantly beyond the technology of the Insight for only a little more money. In fact it cost no more then a regular Camry with auto, alloys and the JBL 6 disc radio, so there is no hybrid premium to recoup. No USB capability is a big disappointment for a 2010. Mileage above 60mpg is easy to accomplish for a full tank average. Currently averaging 67mpg with 250 miles on the tank. The AC works great, full output a low speed and even with the engine stopped. A stronger battery pack would be sweet, as would plug-in capability. Plastic covers over alloys is a bit unusual. The instrument cluster is much better to use the it appeared, no looking through the steering wheel. It is very quiet, solid and easy to use. This is a good car and good value even it it was not a hybrid....read morehide

Getting 60 mpg on street and freeway. You have to drive with a soft foot. the electric engine is what gives the mpg. Great car to drive. First hybrid I ever owned . I drove this car from Los angeles to grand Canyon. This car is amazing. I love driving this car in the traffic. This car doesnt spend any gas going to 25 mph. If they made a prius that can run on electric to 35 mph. I would get 100 mpg easily. Some times I get 75 mpg on a flat to incline sloop....read morehide

Bought one last week . Model prius III. Great car. comfortable ride. took some time to get used to the controls ( first time hybrid buyer!). My previous car was a camry v6. it compares close to a camry in handling and interior specs. in power mode it accelerates same as a camry v6. econo mode is ok. you experience a lack of power while accelerating in econo mode. Prius allows to switch between modes while driving. No A2DP (music streaming ) in Prius III. Handsfree profile is available though. You need navigation package for advanced blutooth capabilities. No complaints so far. Great car!. Quite interior, smooth drive!.- Considered and test drove honda insight before buying. Prius has lot more power overall and smoother handling compared to insight....read morehide

I just looked at the 2010 Prius . I love the changes to the exterior and the interior is very hmmm "buck rogers" You have to see it to know what I mean . Not bad thing but may take some getting used to .
I own a 2007 Prius an LOVE it . Great Milage . I average 49 to 50 Mpg Highway and it's quiet and it has all the features you'd ever want in a car . Lots of room , blue tooth , great stereo with Ipod hook up .
The only MINOR complaints with this car as far as I'm concerned are --back up beep--is very annoying and reflection of dash lites onto windshield at nite . Back up cam is nice but they didn't put it on the 2010 Don't know why.... but the kept the back up beep !!! Go figure ..
I'd probably buy the 2010 if I didn't like mine so much . The 2010 has more horsepower and better milage!!! -- Are you listening Detroit!!!...read morehide
