Getting over 50 mpg. Great looking. Rattles like a cheap car. Returned to dealer 5 times for same rattles. Dealer can not correct. Called Toyota and was told it was normal. Look at the Honda Insight instead.

Drove 750 miles to Houston on $24 worth of gas. Average gas mileage is 52 mpg combined city & hwy. Good acceleration with the power mode.
One complaint is the center console rattles. The nav system also needs to allow passenger to operate information. Cannot seem to get information about "points of interest" along route (hotels, dining, etc.) only in immediate area.
Very comfortable on long or short drives....read morehide

Some of my friends think I am nuts. I traded in a 2006 Lexus GS 300 for a 2010 Prius IV. I am having fun "hyper miling" by slowing when I see a light turn red and not "jack rabbit" starting when it turns green. I am impressed with some of the features this car has that my old Lexus had: Keyless entry, Push-button start, Bluetooth, Touch-sensitive screen for radio and CD. Some things are taking some getting used to: Acceleration is no where near my old V-6. Rear visibility is bad. Good thing there is a rear back-up camera. I am getting about 46 miles per gallon in my first month of ownership. I hope this gets better over time. One note of interest: Autoway Toyota of Pinellas Park took a $1000 deposit from me with the promise they could get the car I wanted. They failed. I ended up going to Clearwater Toyota and had a good buying experience....read morehide

The 2010 Prius is an improvement over the 2009; the rattles are gone; the gas mileage is higher. But the trade off for the mpg is the power, especially in the pickup. I pressed the pedal all the way to the floor but I felt like that I was pushing a dead car with my own force. The numb steering made the driving experience even worse. I then test drove the 2010 Ford Fushion Hybrid right after this; that was a very responsive and fun driving car. I guess the Prius is still a solid car for the people who do not care for driving experience. But it's not for me....read morehide

After owning a 2009 Prius for a year, I traded it in for a Camry Hybrid because having a bad back, I didn't like the seats in the Prius. THe Camry driver's seat was comfortable but the gas mileage wasn't the greatest and I never could get used to the larger frame of the Camry. I checked out the 2010 Prius with pkg IV and was hooked. Good acceleration, nice lumbar support leather driver's seat and great, great gas mileage.
Pros: Finally, all auto up and down windows, a bit roomier than the '09, better gas mileage, more tech gadgets.
Cons: More useless tech gadgets, NAV not very user friendly, takes more time to speak icons (restaurants, etc) 3 driving modes are basically useless, loss of cabin space with the new center design, hard to find a good deal because it's so new.
However, after going through 4 dealers in the Los Angeles area, I ended up at Thousand Oaks Toyota in CA and scored a great deal with my Camry trade-in and MSRP on the Prius. None of the other dealers were willing to negotiate. The car drives alot tighter than the older model Prius and being Made in Japan, it seems that quality is much better than the Kentucky built Camry. The windows roll up and down alot smoother than the Camry and it seems quieter with no rattles compared to American built. The only thing missing is "auto" headlights!! I know. Lazy American! But I did find them to be a great convenience on the Camry and other luxury cars I've owned. Other than that - I think this car is a definite keeper....read morehide

This is my second Pruis, my first a 2006. I have been so very satisfied with it. I had a chance for the 3rd gen Prius and I jumped at it. This one is great also. There is more room and it seems to be a little taller, no blind spots and when I brought it home from over 1000 miles, I was getting 64 MPG. The Prius will be my car of choice forever. Just take it in for its regular service and drive, drive, drive....read morehide

This is my second Prius. I kept my 2007 model when I bought the 2010. Love all the technical stuff - solar roof, GPS, etc. Am having the rims replaced to get rid of cheap plastic wheel covers. Had to go to computer to find a rear bumper protector. Over all I think this is the best hybrid on the market....read morehide

It's no wonder why my friends rave about this car. They love their luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Range Rovers, but they got the Prius wanting to make a difference in the world. Regardless of your reasons I love mine. The only unfortunate thing is they go so fast that your color option is limited. I've heard some other dealers try to talk me out of a Prius complaining that the batter will go out, but my friends who have older models said they never had problems with theirs. So lets hope the 2010 wont have any flaws as well.
So far it drives great, yes it's quiet, but I don't mind that. It has a lot of fun gadgets. My solar sunroof can do all these cool things, by making the car cool down, my navigation turns into a camera so you can see from the back so you don't hit things. I haven't even began to explore all of them. I'm very happy with my purchase, and I can see why the Prius are so popular.
My only complain is they need to get more quantity for their allocations because they run out so fast, and people put holds on them for a fee....read morehide

Getting 60 mpg on street and freeway. You have to drive with a soft foot. the electric engine is what gives the mpg. Great car to drive. First hybrid I ever owned . I drove this car from Los angeles to grand Canyon. This car is amazing. I love driving this car in the traffic. This car doesnt spend any gas going to 25 mph. If they made a prius that can run on electric to 35 mph. I would get 100 mpg easily. Some times I get 75 mpg on a flat to incline sloop....read morehide

I'm a real estate broker and use this car daily in my business. It has an amazing amount of room in the rear seats and overall.
I've consistently averaged over 45 MPG since I bought the car new in 2006. I now have a little over 75,000 miles on it with no repairs; only oil changes and one set of new tires.
I'll be trading soon for another Prius; my only dilemma is whether to go for a 2010 or get a discounted but new 2009.
My wife has a 2005 Prius also and she loves hers as well....read morehide
