I had a 2006 4cyl 4x4 base and loved it. Zero issues in 3 years. I passed it on to my daughter who loves it and I bought a base 4x4 V6. I would highly suggest it. The V6 is a rocket with great gas mileage. I just love to pull up next to rear wheel drive mustangs and camaros and blow them away. The all wheel drive makes it one with the road. Before I bought a car I did a lot of research before I bought one and Toyota seemed to be the best choice. Well now that I'm having so many problems with my Toyota did even more research and there are a lot of people out there having the same problem I am.... Toyota transmissions don't last and go out at very low miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The worst part is even if a small part goes out in the transmission Toyota doesn't replace just that piece they replace the whole transmission... which for someone like me is very expensive since I don't have an extra 3600 bucks laying around!!!!!! So right now my car is 15 months old and it's having it's 3rd transmission because apparently the one they got to replace the first was a lemon! If I knew three years ago what I know now I would never have bought a Toyota! Maybe that's why Toyota now does 50,000 mile powertrain instead of 100,000.... My car was just bought 2 weeks ago, but by far it is my favorite car that I have ever had. It has so many features that I love. Heated seats, sunroof, push start, 6 CD changer, loads of space for front seat and back seat passengers. I could go on and on about it. It drives so smooth and the seats are so comfortable. I have had my RAV4 for 3 months. I find the way the transmission shifts very annoying. The shift is overly prolonged and reminds me of old slush box automatics. For this one reason I would not buy another.

I have a 2008 rav 4 sport. I knew the ride would be stiffer when I bought it. With the 18" wheels and suspension it corners like a sports car. Very little lean on hairpins and power to accelerate out of corners and up mountains.. Performance is great. Took the rav on a 3 thousand mile trip and put in 12 hour days. Wasn't as good for comfort as the lexus but no one was tired from sitting. It pleases me enough that I purchased a 100K + 7 year extended warranty because I intend to keep it....read morehide

I got mine loaded, with leather, sunroof, upgraded stereo, bluetooth, etc. I was suprised at the great acceleration (sub 7 seconds 0-60!). The options are all worth the cash and make this car a very nice ride! I have owned Toyotas before, but the RAV4 is the best built I have owned. Very satisfied!
