The gas mileage is not that great. However, I knew that going into the purchase of this vehicle. It is a great car I recomend this over a van. The room is great for our double family vacations. It drives so gently and the sound is great. I have an 2006 and I plan on keeping it awhile. I do believe it will last as long as I need it to....read morehide

This 2010 Toyota Sequoia is my 4th new Toyota purchased. My platinum has every possible option available. I am very happy with the vehicle overall, However, Toyota's legal dept is ruining Toyota. The Navigation and factory remote starter are useless. As soon as the vehicle is in motion the NAV locks up so that not even your passenger can enter a new address or search for fuel or food. So basically you are forced to pull over into the break down lane (which is not only illegal buy dangerous) to update your NAV. Also the RADAR cruise control does not work when the windshield wipers are activated. Give me a break Toyota, I know how to drive in the rain....read morehide

Having owned and still own a 04 Sequoia Limited, I was hoping too see some upgrades done to the 2010. First, the access into the third row doesn't get any easier. They also made it a lot easier when sitting in the third row to get out. You used to be locked in unless somebody would let you out. Now you just push the pedal on the back of the second row and the seat slides forward. Second, I like that they lit up the buttons and controls. The 04 was dark on the inside and you would have to memorize where the controls were. Third, you push a button and the third row lays flat. The old Sequoia was aggravating to take the seat in and out.
The comfort of the ride is great in the new Toyota. You hardly know you're driving and with radar cruise it makes for easy highway driving. I think the Navigation system is a breeze to use. The low fuel light is out of sight, but just hit the info button after setting the cruise and leave up the miles to empty. You can clearly see when you are getting low. The second row is just as comfortable as the first. Heated, sliding and reclining seats make for a great ride. Not to mention you have a household outlet for plugging in your laptop or game as you ride. The window have privacy shades built into the door so you can put them up and down whenever you want.
After just completing a 13 hour non-stop ride to Florida I really don't have any complaints about the ride or handling. There was no stress while driving and the whole family was comfortable and relaxed.. The trip only felt like I drove a couple of hours. The drivers seat was very cozy and didn't feel tired at all once we arrived.
The only real con I can see is the headroom in the first row. I'm 5'10" and have about 4" of clearance. Somebody a little taller might not feel comfortable having their head so close to the roof of the truck. I had about 8" headroom on the 04 Sequoia.
The improvements they have made are great. I couldn't ask for a better vehicle. The truck looks great and has a ton of room in it. I highly recommend it....read morehide

available power at anytime, very smooth ride even at constant 120 to 140 kph, excellent sound system, feels safe to ride, roomy interior, excellent turning radius much better than small cars.

My family loves the truck so much, it has room for everybody, very good handling, comfortable for long trip. But it costed too much for gas, Toyota should have a option diesel engine for this kind of big truck.

Appearance: Has a very aggressive stance and looks better than most full-size SUV's on the road. Make sure you have the front sonar though, as that stylish front snout makes it hard to see position front-right.
Comfort: I have taken this truck from NC to Las Vegas and back. The kids were happy, as it does not 'float' as the older Suburbans did, and they did not get seasick. However, I do not care for the firm and busy ride. Even on the comfort suspension setting there is too much going on. The seats don't help out either, as they are not cushy enough to balance the equation. If they seat heaters worked as well as the Sub, then a little heat therapy might make the the trip tolerable, but alas, they simply get the seats tepid. Prepare for sore hips on long trips.
Performance: This is what you are paying 55k for, an amazing engine and brakes. Gets to speed in an incredible hurry, and the brakes get you back in no time. Vastly superior to the Sub in this department. However, the one lackluster performance area is in the front controls department. the Nav system is not intuitive at all. I am a gadget freak and pride myself on never needing a manual for most things, but this gps was not the case. The Suburban (we have an 09) is superior in this area, as it takes 60 sec to master. The FATAL FLAW in the controls though has to be the placement of the gas gauge. It is impossible to see, as the steering wheel obstructs the view. When you get low on gas, it lets out a solitary tone that you will not hear if the radio is on. I have gotten stranded on I-95 already as result, with many more close calls than I care to mention. This has become a real hate-it issue for me as it creates a driving stress now that need not be. On the Sub, when you get low, the gps alarms you and asks you if you want to be directed to nearest gas station. Flawless.
A few random thoughts: 1) Unlike the Sub, the traction control is default off. You have to remember to turn it on if it's raining. 2) The interior plastic is chintzy looking for the cost and scratches way too easily. 3) The rear execution is excellent, with great rear legroom and super third-row fold-flat capability. 4) Stereo is above average on the Platinum package, and the mp3 jack an awesome plus. 500 dollars to setup XM is simply ridiculous though.
Value: Fair. You are paying for a reliable high-tech engine and brakes, wrapped in a stylish frame.
Reliability: Except for the gas issue making it unreliable in a a sense, the truck has performed perfectly.
All in all, I would not buy this vehicle again. I like many elements of it, but several things have become glaringly annoying like the gas stress, the bumpy ride and the mediocre heated seats (the Subs are like heating pads and are awesome on long rides). But hey, it sure looks nice!!!...read morehide

I wish I could get an aftermarket gas type shock absorbers like bilstein but unfortunately nothing yet is available for the 08 sequoia, otherwise I got no other concerns. MPG is just comparable to the acadia (note only a V6) which I traded for this wonderful SUV without regret.
