- Roominess, interior flexibility, techno-gadgets.
- Interior needs update.
My wife and I had considered the Lexus RX330 and the Acura MDX. After driving the Lexus we were sold on the interior appoinments and remote rear hatch. A month later we went back to test drive the MDX during a service appointment for our CL. The second look clinched it for the MDX. Space (we're having our first child), price, utility, and value outweighed the convenience of a button. Not to mention that we'd be paying an extra six grand for it. Granted, the RX interior is beautiful, but I couldn't see myself doing Home Depot runs with it, not to mention the baby's pending spit-ups, and Goldfish tossing.
The third row seat, albeit not a selling point will be useful when traveling with the M.I.L. what with the baby taking the center seat position.
We also love the techo-gadgets this vehicle offers. We use the Nav sytem on a daily basis for everything from finding a place to eat, to getting phone numbers, and of all things... Navigation. The Bluetooth "Handsfree Link" is nothing more than a godsend and probably the second most used feature. HFL is in a close tie with the built-in XM radio. We can't wait to take our first interstate trip with XM. We're also looking forward to putting the rear seat DVD Entertainment System to use. I had the opportunity to use it just the other night when my M.I.L. wanted to listen to opera. One flick of the switch and she could listen to Placido Domingo while my wife and I enjoyed our favorite XM Jazz station.
We're completely satisfied with our purchase and would recommend this SUV to any new parents out there looking for something with a little more style than a domestic SUV or can't stand the thought of driving the dreaded M-word....read morehide

- Acura name stands for realiabilty. Feels solid and safe on the roda.
- To me, it still rides like an overpriced truck. Gas mileage is ok but needs imrovement
Bought this SUV in August 04 and had a pleasant buying experience. I saw this SUV on the street and was in the market for an SUV. Had it for 2 months and I was pleased with my purchase. I was parked on PCH Highway and was hit from behind by a HUMMER doing 80+. Good thing no one was in the car at the time but the car was totalled. The driver of the Hummer was injured. As I examined what was left of my MDX, I could see that it did not seem to offer the protection that I was lead to belive. If I had been in the car, I would have been seriusly injured if not killed. After my insurance paid, I started to kook into replacing the MDX and decided not to get another MDX. It looks nice but was there something that offered better protection for me and my family? After extensive research, I found an American made SUV that had a better safety rating than the MDX--was $10,000 less, better equipped and actually felt more like a luxury car than the MDX. Compared to the Chrysler Pacifica Touring AWD, the MDX was overpriced. I test drove every suv on the market and bought the Pacifica in Oct 04. After owning the MDX and then the Pacifica, I can't help but feel that I have upgraded. Don't belive an american car maker has caught up to Japan. Maybe this is a sign of things to come....read morehide

Great value for the price. Performance is second to none. Time for some style updates since it's introduction in 01.

- Excellent transmission, outstanding power, its an Acura.
- Need bigger tires. Can't put one since acura say's would affect VSA functionality.
If engine is 4.0 liter 6 cylinder iVTEC mated with current transmission (would probably produced between 320 to 340 hp) and a 100 % built in Japan, believe me it will be a perfect SUV ever built and I will rate 6 out of 5.
By the way I have a 2003 MDX Touring package which looks better than 2004 and 2005. Been driving it for two years now....read morehide

- Purchase the MDX without Navigation or DVD/but excellent Stereo System/Ride/Presence/
- Fuel economy/make navigation standard instead of option
Excellent Value for an SUV. I enjoyed the ride in this vehicle, very stable. Much better overal SUV than the VW Touareg I was interested in but better value than the Lexus RX 330.

- Best overall value at the price
- Gas mileage is not impressive. Minor build quality issues such as rattling on the glove box.
Bought the car three weeks ago. Like it. Compared to BMW, it is better equipped and the performance is better than BMW 3.0i. The navi system is very convenient and easy to use. The gas mileage is so-so, but what can you get for 3.5L engine anyway ? Wish bigger 18" tires.
