Another bad dealer experience but still got the car as I liked it too much.
I think Acura really needs to address its dealerships - they are not responsive, dis-honest (kind of expected I guess) and make no effort to make you feel like you are buying a luxury car

- Very smooth and refined
- Still uses a key!?!
Very impressed with how smooth the MDX is. Gas milage is about the same as last model. Back up camera comes on immediately, not sure what Consumer Reports was talking about. Unfortunately there is no passive entry (keep key fob in your pocket or purse and the door unlocks for you, then just press start). A real oversight on Acura part for such a high tech SUV....read morehide

- Excellent handling and cornering ability thanks for SH-AWD. Fun to drive
- Tire noise on concrete road surface. Very bad gas mileage and acceleration is not faster enough
I have done some thorough research on crossover SUV before I bought 2007 MDX. I should say I really love the vehicle. But, as I said in the "Cons", there are three major areas the MDX need to be approved to be the best crossover SUV in the world:
1. Acceleration -- currently it is only 7.5 seconds from 0-60 miles. At this price range, I am quite disappointed at this acceleration timing. My Honda Odysessy is 7.8 second from 0-60 miles. which is $12,000 cheaper. I feel like paying premium price for a regular car acceleration. 2007 Lexus RX350 is 6.8 seconds from 0-60 miles. This is the acceleration supposed to be at this price range.
2. Road noise -- it much more noisy than Lexus RX350 and BMW X5 on the road. Even new Buick Enclave and Hyundai Veracruz are much quieter than 2007 MDX. But these two vehicles are not premium brand and cost much less money than 2007 MDX.
3. Very bad gas mileage -- This is typical Honda way to handle their vehicle fuel economy. They have the best quality and best performance products. But, all vehicles produced by Honda consume more gas than Toyato, Nissan, etc and even some American cars. I never get over 15.5 MPG in city using 93 octane gas. While nowadays, most of car manufacturers pay close attention to the fuel economy. I think MDX should get at least 19 MPG for city and 25 MPG for highway.
These three Cons may be the target improvement areas for the future MDX. But, all current MDX owners will have to live with these three Cons.
In spite of all these Cons, I never regret I have bought the 2007 MDX. Anyway, this is the first prize winner in "Car and Driver" comparsion road test for eight premium crossover SUV around $50,000 including BMW X5, Leuxs 470, ML350, etc. It is great fun to drive it. Especially, it has three rows of seats to accommodate more tan 5 people and plenty of space. It drive more like a car than a SUV and is very agile. Also, I like the Honda pricing strategy, which have everything as standard for each mode and rarely marked up price as options like Toyota, BMW, etc. Toyota also has one of the best products but I think Toyota is not the honest company to do business and it is the most shrewd car company in the world. They always try all the way possible ( everything is an option and need to pay extra money ) to squeez every penny out of its customers.
Unlike womanish design of Lexus RX350 which looks too roundish, the MDXs have more angular and Muscular looks than Lexus RX350. I also like the exterior and interior design of the MDX . I think MDXs is more a man's car than woman's. In spite of saying so, my wife always steal my 2007 MDX and drive for fun....read morehide

- excellent ride/handilng balance, atttractive interior with dynamic exterior.
- premium gas requirement, but less than 10% expensive than regular now
I owned the 2002 model and thoroughly enjoyed it. It did not have VSC and side curtains so I wanted to upgrade. This car handles much better-even in the base model-- without giving up any of the excellent ride characteristics of the former model. I was encouraged by the salesman to drive the car for while before I had the dealer install the auto dimming mirror. He was right, the windows are tinted dark enough in back that you simply dont need the auto-dim mirror. The leather and the switch gear all have been subtantially upgraded. I also firmly believe that the Bose stereo in the former Touring model was lousy. The base model's stereo is much better. Also, if you consider all the equipment that you currently get with the base model---it's not that much more expensive than the old Touring model to which it closely compares in equipment leves. Finally, I think that the styling is a standout amoungst a bunch of look alike crossovers....read morehide

- Performance and Handling, luxury, abundant tech features
- Fuel Economy
Just a pleasure to drive. Before you buy the bmw, lexus or volvo suv, you must put this on your short list to test. The super-handling awd is superb and this vehicle performed effortlessly on snow and ice this past winter. Only complaint is that both the dimming rear-view mirror and perforated seats should be standard....read morehide

- TOO MUCH TO LIST
- No compass, No autodimmer on review mirror. Expensive add on's
Overall this is a fantastic vehicle. Other luxury SUV makers should worry about the MDX. I did not get the Sport or Tech package. It was several thousand for a full Tech Pack and another couple thousand for the Sport package. Roof rack and door guards and running boards are extras that are expensive. I negoitated to a price where we could both agree and had the deal done. Then, I told the salesperson to throw in the doorguards and the deal was immediate. They said yes. If you do not get the running boards, the finance manager will try to add them on for a couple of dollars a month to your payment. Very sneaky. Nevertheless, I said no. Seat heating can be a tad warmer. One can always go out an purchase a portable GPS system for the SUV for a couple hundered dollars.
Even though I am making you aware of the purchasing issues and Con's, I cannot list all the positive things about this vehicle.
One would think 300HP is much, guess again. When your vehicle is 4500lbs, don't expect a sports car. Manual shifting adds a little kick to passing and being more agressive in your driving.
I love driving this SUV in any type of weather. Over satisfaction A++++++++....read morehide

- great SUV, the redesign is perfect!
- no auto dimming rear-view mirror, no trip odo. and no compass
OK I waited three weeks to write my review so I could give a true scoop of my experience. I had a Jeep Wrangler, a Z28 Camaro, a Z71 Tahoe and an Acura TL before I bought my new MDX. I loved them all but Acura takes the prize for luxury and value and well performance. I drove everything on the planet when I bought my TL in Aug. 2006 new but it was the best out of all the competition. My situation changed to a dirt road so I traded my TL (and did not lose much at all) on my new MDX. I drives better than my car and it will goooo! The AWD is great on a muddy road and my tall passengers are ok in the third row. I am putting the towing package on and the bug guard today. I also got the protection 1 package free and the cooler bag with the car. My disappointments are the mirror and the trip odo. and compass my car did not have a compass either. I will live! But I must say my sun roof is a little moist when I get out of the car wash and my reset on the average miles per gallon will not work. I told Acura and they are giving me a new TSX to drive while they put in my towing package and check the sunroof and reset on the gas. They have been great and gave me 1200 off sticker and free stuff....read morehide

- NOT GOOD on fuel economy, due to "supreme gas" usage demand.
- Braking is unusual, but ok.
Overview - -
The fuel economy is not good because of the requirement for "supreme gas" (supreme gas is costly). Should make engine for regular gas usage. Also, braking is unlike the previous cars I have driven, but overall ok.
