- $16,380 - $19,944

- Built reasonably well - good fit, GPS seems accurate and easy to use.
- Shifting was a bit stiff and noticeable, had to have differential fluid changed after only 7900 mile
After reading reviews on the BMW X5, Mercedes ML and another Navigator (was driving one at that time) I was impressed by the seamless technology of the 2007 Acura MDX and bought the one with the Nav and rear entertainment packages. It was important to me my iPod would inter-face without all the cables and connectorsand the MDX was the only with this technology. I paid for the option when I purchased the vehicle but it still has not been installed, and was bitterly disappointed today (six months later) to learn that option no longer exists because Acura can not even figure out how to do what Toyota has managed on the RAV4 and Ford has done in the Escape - for half the money. To add insult to injury however, I found out today the base model MDX has a jack for an MP3 plug and the loaded models do not. In other words, I can not play my iPod in my vehicle no matter what I do. The dealer and Acura corporately have been evasive and have not returned my calls as promised. I've had to follow-up every step and become my own advocate because they seemingly could care less. For a company that prides itself on customer service they've sure fallen short with me. On a lighter note, I've also had to have the differential fluid changed after just 7,900 miles when the mfr recommends 15,000 miles. I was told it has a lot to do with the type of driving I do. Mine has been easy in-town driving and I have not driven the car hard. I can see the maintenence costs mounting after just one "routine" maintenance visit. In just six months - Oil, tire rotation and differential work = $195.00. I will let you know if they "make it right" - their words, not mine.
