- Great ride, power, comfort and fun
- Premium Gas but OK on MPG
"This compact SUV is the best combo of a SUV and sports car I have found. It has good power and handles like a dream. You also feel very secure driving in adverse conditions like rain or snow. The bluetooth and controls are easy to use. The driving experience is fun and makes my business and personal trips that much better. I love to see this car in my driveway as it is a great all around vehicle for myself and my family."...read morehide

- Package price, responsive, quiet
- passenger seat not adjustable enough to make avg size woman comfortable
I love the car - lots of bells and whistles with the tech package - easily the best sound system I've ever heard in a car. Voice commands are easy to use, and actually work!
My girlfriend doesn't like the passenger seat - the active headrest is so high that it bends her chin to her chest if she sits with her head on the headrest. There is no way to adjust it to match her height - we are buying cushions to raise her in the seat enough to be comfortable.
Otherwise, the car is everything I expected, and significantly cheaper than the BMW similarly equipped! I like keeping the $10K....read morehide

- Inexpensive for what you get, reasonable as mileage for an SUV
- Acceleration, some odd ergonomic choices
I have now owned a 2008 Acura RDX for a full week and feel somewhat reasonably competent in providing a fair and accurate description of the car so far.
The best things about the RDX are that the car comes with a good record of reliability, it's fairly roomy, comes well appointed as a base model and there are very, very few upgrades available, meaning that it pretty much comes with anything you would want as a base model. This base model includes all wheel drive, heated leather seats, integrated bluetooth, jack for an mp3 player, sunroof, rear wipers, a solid 6 disc in dash stereo, etc. As a matter of fact, the only package upgrade is the technology package of which the most significant additions are navigation and a more powerful stereo.
Gas efficiency is rated at 22 MPG highway. I have yet to test this out.
So far the only quasi disappointment I have is that the car is not as spry as a smaller auto (I used to drive a 2001 Honda V6 Accord Coupe), but that's an unfair comparison. The RDX is a 4 cylinder with turbo. It accelerates well enough if you need it to - read pull quickly into traffic - but when you're cruising along there is a noticeable lag in response time of a couple of seconds. Again, this is perfectly normal in an SUV, but I can't help the feeling that there should have be a more robust engine in the car, though with gas prices being what they are I certainly won't bemoan that too much.
Aother reviewer described some of the accouterments as being "cheap". I assure you this is not the case. It's true that plastic abounds, but so does leather and if anyone wants wood trim, I'm pretty sure it's available as an add on.
All in all, if you're looking for a smaller SUV that can cart around more than a sedan but not destroy your wallet at the gas pump this car should be on your list. Got mine for a little over 29,000 so shop around. Good luck!...read morehide

- Hot looking! Great technology features! Fun to Drive! I LOVE my new RDX!
- Maybe gas but the car is so great in all other aspects its worth it!
I did a lot of research on cars, SUV's etc...I wanted a mix of sports car with extra room and this car is perfect. I looked at Audi's, Infiniti's, Toyota's etc...but once they delivered my car - I fell in love. If you are looking for a sexy, hot, fast, fun car with many features, BUY THIS CAR!!! I am extremely happy with it!...read morehide

- Quick, Solid, and an overall fun car to drive
Great CUV. I am really happy with my purchase. I have driven Acura's before. The MDX is too big and too much like a mini van for my taste and the TSX is too small. The RDX really fits my needs. Drives and feels like a sports sedan but gives you the extra room to haul stuff around. I have not driven it in the Winter yet, but I am looking forward to it. I wanted a car with all wheel drive, sporty, fast, had some power and all the technology you could imagine. There might be a couple of things added but it is very rare that you find all the features of the RDX in one car. The RDX is really one of the best kept secreets of the luxury CUV's. Far better and more fun the Lexus or the BMW. Some people complain about the MPG but mine averages 20. I have driven SUV's my entire life and this is still better than any of those. Just look at all the CUV's in this class they are all close in MPG ratings....read morehide

- Fast ride with great control.
- If you have a heavy foot your looking at 16-17 mpg......
I live in up in canada and this thing is great in the snow. I bought mine 7 months ago now and with about 10000 miles on it im getting around 18/23 mpg which is what you should expect for a turbo charged 4 cyl, and considering that it is probably the largest of its kind im not going to get bent out of shape about it. If people would just do a little research before investing in something new they would not be so surprised....read morehide

- Good looks, lost of high luxury equipment
- service, service, service
actually I was looking around for a long time and the RDX came out and I just loved it, good driving experience, nice features in the technology package wich the GPS is not working in Puerto Rico and Acura told me wait 1 month and it's going to be working (16 months and still waiting) but what really makes me think twice in buying another acura is they never find the noises wich this one has a lot. A bolt here the sunroof there, even the cupholders make noice wich I belive that for the price it does not make any sense that most of the interior parts are plastic...read morehide

- Technology Package-A MUST, silky smooth turbo engine, seats.
- just - gas mileage.
If you are shopping for a small SUV, you must test drive the Acura RDX.
You get sport sedan handling with SUV utility. If you decide to purchase the RDX, you have to get the Technology Package. It's well worth the Extra cost, It has all the Bells & whisltes you could ask for.
Slightly confusing to learn, but once you know it, not bad at all & you'll wonder how you lived without it!
The seat ergonomics are incredible. Classic Acura attention to detail with the entire cabin. I also test drove the BMW X3 & the Infiniti EX35. To get a comparable loaded one from the competitors it would cost an extra 10K. The acura is a better bang for the buck purchase & at no way feels inferior to either competitor. I've only had the car for a week, but I am avg. 21mpg combined. If you don't floor it at the lights, gas economy is not that Bad with this car!...read morehide
