Too sporty of a ride

I inherited this car from a relative who didn't like it after driving it for three months. She found the seats to be uncomfortable. I have to say I am not crazy about it. It has a very "sporty" ride. It is lacking extendable sun visors and has a blinding glare off of the silver trim on the console. The road noise is less than a Honda, but is still not great. It is a decent car, but, in my opinion, doesn't compare to a Lexus 350 for ride and design....read morehide

Have had the car 2 weeks, drives like a 60k car for under 40k, lots of power and space for a crossover. Nice features with the Tech package, and comes with spare tire. Doesn't have all the warning buzzers (lane change, car in front, car beside, etc) that a lot of new cars have. Honestly if you know how to drive and pay attention like you are supposed to, then all that is completely unnecessary....read morehide

love how the seats hug you- super comfortable; so fun and sporty to drive- now I actually like to go to far places! Very small blind spot; spacious back seats; controls are very easy to use; love the rear view camera with 3 views! Extremely happy with this purchase

Very comfortable drive and ride, nimble handling for a car of this type. My second car is a 2012 370Z roadster and the RDX is a fascinating contrast in long-trip comfort.

I bought this car in August after several months looking. This was the one car we could both agree on - it had everything we both wanted in a luxury SUV, and were pretty picky. I love driving it, both around town and on the highway, the interior is very comfortable (all my passengers say that too), it gets really good gas mileage, and I feel like we got a lot of value for our money - could have spent $10-15k more to get the same thing in an Audi or Mercedes, but hwy? My only negatives are the audio system can be buggy with iPhone and Pandora, the passenger seat only has 4-way adjustment (no up and down so it can feel like your riding low), and no fog lights. After all the trouble Acura put into this car to redesign it, you wonder why they didn't put in a better seat and fog lights in the base and AWD models! Although the Tech Package comes with fog lights and you can get them as an option. Overall, I really love this car and would by it again - I highly recommend it....read morehide

Purchased this car solely on feature/price point comparison. Wasn't going to get the Audi Q5 or Lexus due to price and the Honda/Nissan were significantly underpowered for my tastes (already owned a Rogue). Toyota was not even in the running and Ford while nice had 3 recalls since launch. So a big no no.

Acura got the styling pretty right on this vehicle and just sitting (not driving) in the car is very comfortable in all locations. For just 5k you can get the tech pkg which is what we did and overall it is pretty nice.

There are plenty of improvements which need to occur however. From a driving perspective, the gears are rather tall and shifts are very noticeable even when slowly accelerating from a full stop. Suggestion - charge an extra $500 dollars and put in a eight speed! Better gas mileage most likely and smoother gear shifts.

What really needs to be rehauled is the voice commands and ipod integration. In order to make a phone call you need to halt the prompter from speaking excessively.... the Acura settings are either beginner or expert where nothing is said. They are definitely missing a level! Also how do I turn off the system from reading the stupid music title with it's mechanical voice? Every time I scroll to a new song there is a pause and the TTS tries to vocalize the track name... Not only is this annoying but it is distracting! I just want to switch quickly without having to stare and see which song the pointer is at due to the stupid system.

Had a Audi A4 before wife and kids, their system was far more smooth than this!...read morehide

I have had my new 2013 RDX for 3months and I am getting to know it very well with lots of highway and city driving 9000km so far.
The ride is great and it handles very well with a tight suspension and responsive handling. Highway gas milage is pretty good around 8.0 l/100km. City is around 13.5l/100km. Combined with the premium fuel requirment makes city driving a little pricey.
The main concern i am having is that there are a few minor fit and finish problems I am noticing. One is a rattle from the outside of the rear passenger window/door. The other is the hood that looks like it'll fly off when meeting bigger vehicles on the highway. Also a thread off the leather arm rest has come out and will have to be fixed. Minor complaints but this is also very early in to my drive. Hoping for the best!...read morehide
