Purchased As New
2013 redesign of RDX makes it much more appealing than the previous version. Newer version's profile looks more balanced and sleeker. It is also ever so slightly slightly bigger. Biggest difference is under the hood with the availability of new 3.5 liter V-6 rated at 273 HP. It is way better than the turbocharged 4 banger found in pre-2013 RDXs. The newer, bigger engine even gets better gas mileage. 2014 V-6 is rated 20/28 while turbo 4 was rated at 19/24.
Biggest inconvenience is relatively lack of storage and cubby space. Tech package's sound system takes good deal of ambient space. Also, there is fairly noticeable wind noise above 80 mph. Finally, the manual is humongous. If you are not tech-savvy, you can get overwhelmed by the shear amount of information that needed to be digested in order to get the maximum use out of this capable, all-around, well balanced SUV.
I looked at BMW X3, Audi Q5, Lexus RX350 as well but felt that the RDX offered the best combination of performance and price.
