- Awesome nav, great bluetooth phone integration great looks
- Ride is harsh, too much road noise, rattles and noises
The car is a value, but Acura seems to strive for a mark and fall short. The car has great looks, awesome voice activatied navigation, great bluetooth phone integration and nice leather seats. The all wheel drive is great in the snow and rain.
The handling is great too, but they seem to trade ride comfort for it. It is FAR to harsh for a luxury car. Road noise is also a big problem. I drove all others in its class and it is by far the noisiest. Not only is it noise from the road, but the engine and transmission are very noisy. Where is the insullation in this car? The car also has rattles when going over bumps. The dealer says it is a plastic shroud over an aluminum strut. It is annoying. They also did away with the pulled leather in the doors - a shame because it was beautiful in previous models. The nav system has crashed on me a few times, but the dealer says they have fixed it.
There is still a bit of work to do, but Acrua could have the best Luxury sedan in the world if they fix these few things....read morehide

- Navigation System is awesome. You no longer have to pull over and ask for directions.
- I have been told the back seat is a little tight, but I dont care i am in the drivers seat.
This car not only looks luxurious it IS luxurious! When I drive down the street heads turn. It handles like a dream. The accelaration on this car over 65 mph is awesome. It will make you sit back in your seat. No car in it's class even comes close to it.

- Feature Rich Car, All standard. Good placement of dash. A+ stereo. Reliability from Acura history.
- Noisier than competition. Exterior paint thinner than competition.
As most Acuras, some lessons learned: Acura focuses on the value, subtle classy styling, front wheel drive, and utility value. It places less importance on outward performance(still ix-nay on the low end torque), sound proofing materials(windows not thick enough, wheel well sound proofing, etc.), and the paint is not as thick as others in class(Lexus, BMW). That being said, it is truly an awesome car in terms of value, no nonsense driving enjoyment, and long lasting styling.
However, with all it's features, I'd like to see them add adaptive cruise control, double paned windows, and a larger fuel tank.
I am also one to dislike the curly maple wood trim and prefer the black graphite design on the TL or BMW 330.
Taking away the cutting edge features, I don't think there's any one thing that's really better than Lexus or BMW comparables. But Acura has a very good knack of adding the components and parts in beautifully so that that everything is so much better. Lexus and BMW still have more of a customization/build your own style that makes buying much more difficult but may provide more satisfaction for some.
I still think floor mats, splash guards, wheel locks, trunk mat/tray, etc. items should come standard and most dealerships tend to throw them in....read morehide

- GPS is good feature, fuel consumrtion could be improved for making it attaractive.
- ride is very comfortable, road grip is not very solid, must improve on this, compares to lexus/bmw.
a very nice looking car with high performance and comfort.Price is high as compared to its competitors.Road grip on curve side/turning should be more firm. However, ride is comfortable, quite and enjoyable.

- Price, features (all standard), and it's ULVE-2 better for the environment.
- Some don't like the styling, but I think it's great- won't be out dated in 5-10 years
The styling is sporty but conservative. It won't be dated in 5-10 years like some of the current automotive styling trends.
From the outside this car also doesn't make it look like you have a lot of money and are trying to show off, but once you get inside (where you spend a majority of your time when driving the car)--amazing quality and features. Definitely a great choice.
I especially like the rear shade and the side view mirrors that automatically lower when you put the car in reverse. The lighted external door handles are also great, when unlocked with key fob. Hood is as light as a feather and everything under the hood is easy to reach (oil etc.) The moving & HID headlights, ride and noise level (sound cancellation feature) are excellent. But better than that is the sound. The sound system is a little better than the Lexus 430 (I know, heard to believe, but true).
The car also remembers, based on which fob you're using, the last radio, climate, mirror, seat, etc...settings you had and will automatically adjust to satisfy your personal setting needs.
There are so many features to talk about there is simply not enough room here, but I will comment on the safety of this car. All I need to say is five star, but I will comment on the lights for a second. Up in the mountains it gets snowy, and the RL's lights have already prevented me from hitting a deer on a snowy road five days after I purchased the car.
Why is it called RL?--Because the Acura was upset that people were saying "My Legend" instead of "My Acura."--companies are funny; in Japan it's still called the legend. :-)
Sensible, fun, well priced, luxury/sport--exterior good looking, but attracts just the right amount of attention. Don't look at the colors in pictures--you need to see these in person.
White, Lakeshore, Carbon gray, Black, Opulent blue--all great colors

- Fully loaded luxury vehicle with all wheel drive and outstanding sound system
- Rougher ride than Mercedes E320 but not enough of a difference to matter
I traded in an E320 Mercedes for the Acura RL. I was reluctant to give up the "aura" of drving a Mercedes, but the recent MB lag in quality and technology forced my hand. Further, since the Acura comes fully loaded at the same price of the base E320, the value was outstanding and there was no having to pick and choose options to keep the price from ballooning. Fixed price further made buying experience easy and pleasant (no haggling).
The exterior while sharp, may not be the sharpest of the competitors, but the interior is superior in finish and features.
Incredible sound sytem with 6 CD in dash, XM radio and BOSE surround sound; on-star with integrated vocie activated phone, navigation system, keyless entry and ignitionand more all standard.
Top ratings in crash tests for the RL and the excelletn resale history of Acura's also add to the value.
Price Acura in Dover Delaware provided smooth pruchase....read morehide

- quiet, drives well in wet or snowy conditions and the voice commands are great.
This car drives so nicely and is so quiet. I love the voice commands for changing the heat and placing calls. The keyless entry is very nice too because you do not have to dig your keys out of your purse to start the car.

- Its like sitting in my livingroom with a steering wheel. DVD surround WOW!!
- back seats are a little cramped but I would guess it because of the AWD Small price to pay
Its like sitting in my livingroom with a steering wheel. DVD DTS surround WOW!! If it had a video screen i would never leave. Its amazing that BMW and MB didn't think of it first. Why would someone spend all of that money for a german breakdown artist? Anyone who buys a BMW or a MB must have too much moneyon thier hands. You might feel better by giving the money to the tsunami survivors!!...read morehide

- Handles very well. Navigation system is really excellent and very easy to use. Handsome interior.
- V-6, despite the 300 HP is still a bit too light. Should offer longer wheel base and V-8.
This car is killer. I have owned both the 530i and the Audi A8. While this car has nowhere near the power of the A8, it handles like a dream. And, being in New England, having a reliable All Wheel Drive system is necessary. This car is a champ in inclement weather while, let's face it, BMWs really are terrible in the snow.
The navigation system is a dream - it has a very readable display and while it takes a few mins to get the programming "down", once you know how to program it, it is a snap. The interior is very comfortable and has integrated some very high end technology into the car very nicely.
Problems? This car should have a V8 option. For Acura to compete with the Audis and BMWs of the world, they need to have a longer car as well as a more powerful model.
But for a sedan under 50k, this is clearly the best car on the market. Period.
All in all, this is a tremendous car that offers terrific value. I recommend it highly....read morehide
