I just bought a 2006 Acura TL 5 speed auto with nav. As with all Hondas and Acuras, you could not find a squeak or rattle on this car even if you used a stethascope. Look at all the other reviews on all of the other web sites and you will not see a single review mentioning rattles on the Acura TL. But on this site, there are dozens mentioning rattles - obviously some disgruntled person who thought he or she was clever and wrote all of them, using a different name each time. So, whoever you are, if you have a beef with Acura, go talk to your dealer instead of ruining this review section with your ridiculous rattle complaints. Acuras and Hondas are the least rattling cars on the road, and that includes the TL....read morehide

- Outsatnding handling in the curves, great acceleration and breaking. One of the best looking cars on
- Small trunk, narrow front bucket seats.
This is the best buy for the money on the market if you are looking for fully loaded performance car. If you are looking for a quiet smooth ride, buy a Buick! I have read four reviews that stated the car has no fog lights. This is not true, they are located next to the head lights and are turned on by rotating the second ring next to the head light knob. Better yet read your owners manual!...read morehide

- Very stylish, great value, love the ponies!
- None so far...
I love this car! The car performs great..no complaints and NO RATTLES (so far)! I've had the car for almost a year now..and I love it. Unfortunately, I was in an accident (rear-ended, and the impact forced my car into a large SUV in front of me). The car's pressure points convinced me of the safety value it provides. Safe (check), best car in its class. The Acura service has been stellar!...read morehide

- Great handling,Solid styling,awesome interior
- Audio sucks,Premium fuel,No Compass
I love everything about this car with the exception of the junk Bose audio. We even paid extra for the premium stereo and my Honda Van sound better. We are now over 10k with not one rattle.I would like to address some other reviews. The Maxima may say it has more power but that is because Acura follows the new rating system. The value over the fully loaded Accord is Huge. And I'm not sure what you all paid for yours but we paid 31,569.oo with all of the toys.Infinity and Lexus comparables were 5-7k higher.Love the car work on the sound sytem...read morehide

- Incredibly user friendly. Power galore. EXCELLENT suspension. Eats curves for lunch.
- The triptronic transmission won't hold 1st gear.
Rattels? I'm on my 3rd TL, ('99 '03 now my '05) and have NEVER had any rattles. My transmission went out on my '99 and '03, but it was taken care of immediately and properly. Major kudos to Acura/Honda. The '05, I've had for 19 months now, and I STILL LOVE driving it. I only wish I would have purchased the manual transmission. I will on my '07 TL. The suspension is remarkably better than my '03 Type S, yet I'd love it if it were rear wheel drive. You simply cannot purchase a vehicle that's better for the price, period. I know, I've looked. - Ergonomic interior, muscular stance, Bluetooth capability
- Lack of low-end torque for a V6, Interior rattles
I have owned the 06 TL /w Navi for approximately 6 months, and have put on 7100 miles thus far.
Performance-wise, this car lacks the low-end torque of it's competitors (G35, 3-series BMW), and leaves you driving the speed limit with no urge to push the car to its limits. The automatic transmission upshifts relatively sluggishly, and it's manual shift mode is pretty much useless except on the highway. Around the corners, it does its job adequately, but the FWD drivetrain can't hold a candle to its RWD competition. Brakes do their job well.
The TL's interior is one that you will fall in love with at first sight, but with the center console rattles (which Acura STILL hasn't figured out how to remedy) it can be nerve-wracking, and you'll force yourself to leave the adequate stereo system on at all times. The highly touted ELS Surround Sound system is overrated, as it does absolutely nothing special with regular audio discs, and 99% of TL owners will be stuck listening to the demo Audio-DVD that came with the system. The lack of an auxillary input is disappointing, especially since it's younger sibling (the TSX) has it standard. On the plus side, the leather seats are an absolute joy to sit in, and the seat warmers do their job very well. The Bluetooth HFL works very well, and voice recognition can accept commands from the worst of accents. Rear seating is adequate, provided none of your rear seat passengers are over 5'10.
The exterior is a hit-or-miss type design, with some people considering it muscular and beautiful (myself), or others likening it to a bland sedan with luxury badging. The rear end of this car can use some work, but overall, in my opinion, is a well-rounded design that should age well.
On paper, the 04-06 Acura TL offers a LOT of car for the money, but it does nothing particularly well. If you're looking for a Entry-level luxury sedan that's a safe investment, go with the TL. If you want more athleticism, go with an Infiniti G35. If you need more refinement, go with a BMW 3-series. Try before you buy....read morehide

- Excellent accelaration, smooth quite ride, the voice operated naviagtion system
- Difficult to get into , the leather is not high quality
I've got 2000 miles on the car and overall, I'm very satatisfied. The only remaining difficulty I've encountered was entering the car. Because of its cab forward aerodynamic design, I tend to need to slide down the edge of the outer driver's seat to enter the car. Exiting is quite easy however. I find many cars with similar a design have this same problem, so what the heck! Its very smooth, very quick, ergonometrically well thought out and a superb audio system. You could say it clearly has the best value, but take in consideration its outstanding reliability then clearly the best choice in its class....read morehide

- acceleration, smooth ride, navigation system
I have never posted anything like this before in my life but my 2006 TL, which has only 600 miles on it, has numerous and very annoying interior rattles in the dash, interior door paneling and who-knows where in the rear. Moderate acceleration and everyday bumps in the road set these all off and they get worse everyday. I cannot stress enough how much of an annoyance these are. I would definitely give thought to other models and brands. In the end, the rattles negate all of the pros of this car....read morehide
