- Really nice car
Purchased As Used
I have an 06 6spd manual, my car is amazing to drive and really dependable. Gas prices are going up and I love my car because it's good on MPG. I'm taking it to Chicago now on the summer for my family reunion because I got 1 cousin with my cars twin, and I want to put them next to each other. You should definetly get one...read morehide

- Value, sound system, reliabilty, power.
- No ventillated seats, but no other car in this class has them.
The bottom line is that for real world city driving you can't do much better. This car has great acceleration, good handling, and a killer sound system, and you cannot beat the value. I bought mine 11/06 and paid 29.2K plus tax, tag, and title. Two golf bags fit comfortably in the trunk.
You want a comparably equipped G35? Get ready to fork out another 8K, and your CD player is in the trunk. Yes, it accellerates better and has RWD... but while I like to give it some gas, 0-60 in 5.9 is plenty fast (Car and Driver test time for the TL). Since I drive on city streets and not through the bavarian alps, the TL provides all the handling capabilities I require.
Lexus IS 250? Less HP, pricy option packages, and my golf clubs (not to mention a second set) won't even fit in the trunk. No 6 speed in the IS350. an '03 LS 430? ... maybe when I'm 50.
Audi A4... nice car, but I drive my cars for 10 years, and I don't like to spend time in repair shop waiting rooms.
BMW 330ic... heart says yes, head says no. See Audi A4.
In the end, you can't beat it. Everything you need and a little bit extra for a fair price....read morehide

- nice balance ride/handling, 6 speed shift throw, styling, comfort
- no compass, rear seat room
I last drove an '04 Maxima with a 6 speed manual. This TL has a much smoother and shorter shift throw. Clutch is easier also. Much nicer ride. It would be nice to have a heated steering wheel such as the Maxima had. I have not had the rattle experiences that others have written about. The rear seat is tighter, but manageable. All in all a great car, very happy with it....read morehide

- Looks great; love the slick 6-speed; fast AND 30 mpg @ 80mph...
- Rattles are SO irritating, a bit more road noise than I expected
If it weren't for the rattles, I would say this car is perfect. Where else can you get 260-hp, a 6-speed, comfort, bluetooth, and great mpg for $30,000? It runs like a dream at high RPMs. It has forever turned off my nephews from their formerly beloved, outdated, pushrod GM motors. Welcome to smooth power.
Great looks, too. Even people who don't like 4-doors like this car.
Yes, there are rattles. If you are one of the lucky few who got one without rattles, perhaps you should note that it's a recurring theme in these reviews and consider yourself lucky. The rattles are for real. They are incredibly irritiating. The dealer finally fixed a couple of them, but it's not yet perfect.
Only other negative is the ridiculous iPod link. What a joke... use a tape adapter instead and save your money....read morehide

- Great freeway cruiser; outstanding engine; better looking than BMW
- Rattel, rattle rattle . . . Previous model had same issue. Acura should be doing much better QC
Dealer denies customer complaints about the rattles. They worked on it for 2 hours and solve the problem for about 2 weeks. This was the door and driver's window. Now the dash rattles. Acura should be doing a much better job of quality control. Car is twitchy, especially over rough roads where it exhibits too much torque steer. However, for money, it offers great power and most options....read morehide

- Best looking sport sedan, Beautiful interior, Flat out "Fast!"
- Ride is stiff, This car has a blind spot big time.
Ok folks, Here it is. I told myself I would never ever get into one of these reviews but I have to put my two cents in.
I absolutely love this car! It's my first ever 6 speed. (I have a 2004 model) I bought this car with just over 6k miles on it and I have't heard what all the hub bub is all about with rattles. I have one littel small teenie weenie squeak with the wiper variation control knob on chilly mornings here in southern California, but after it warms up in the day, my car is silent and comfortable. I think I hit a home run with this car even though I went over board with spending money. The power is agressive but what do you expect from a company that is envolved with formula one racing! The VTEC engine is out of this world powerful! and I get stares after keeping up with Porsche's and other high priced sports cars. I love it.
The standards on this car are fantastic and you have to ask yourself one honest question. "Where are you going to get these options without paying for them?" This car is loaded to the gills with cool stuff you normally have to pay for in other high priced luxury sedans.
Acura has hit this one out of the ballpark, so stop your complaining you sqeaky rattle nuts!...read morehide

- Good MPG (I get average of 24mpg city), Slick 6-speed manual, roomy, etc.
- Front Wheel Drive, torque steer, audio
2006 Acura TL is a great car if you're looking for a decent luxury sport sedan that has many bells and whistles the competition does not offer. The 6 speed manual is great but takes time getting used to. The gas mileage is what impresses me the most. I'm usually only commuting to work and home, and I get 24MPG city. It would probably be more if I drove Highway, but it all depends on how you drive. The car torque steers a little too much but thats expected from a front wheel drive, but if it were a rear wheel drive, it would be hard to drive during the winter. Overall it's a great car and I would definitely recommend....read morehide

- Acceleration, Fit and Finish, Bluetooth, Comfort
- No Rear Fold-down seat, No Internal Compass, Premium Fuel
It seems every negative review has to do with interior rattling of this car, which I've never experienced so I either got the only one that doesn't rattle, or people are confusing rattle with road noise, or perhaps those that hear it had the unfortunate experience of getting a lemon. In any case, I researched this car a lot, as well as the G30, Volvo S60, and BMW. After eliminating the BMW immediately because of price and the associated pretentiousness, the TL offers a lot more for the money than the other 2. Everything is standard on the TL and for the G35 it would've cost an additional 5K to match the TL's features and the Volvo simply couldn't match the performance. The ride is incredibly smooth, especially on the highway, the wireless phone is a huge plus, and the mileage is impressive. The interior lighting and ergonomics are also very refined and convenient - the console even slides forwarded for support while shifting. Since I don't normally drive over 80 mph or drag race at every light I can't comment on high speed braking or cornering and if that's how you do drive then buy a porsche and stay away from me on the road please. If you want a smooth, well-balanced verhicle with impressive features I would highly recommend the TL....read morehide

- good handling and appearance.Dash well laid-out.
- Rattles, rattles and more rattles! Rear tire noice excessive.
I expected more from Acura. After 1,000 miles rattles started in the
dash. Now they are obvious even during modest acceleration and
very annoying when I hit the slightest bump. They are the dash rattles
which are the worst to find and secure.
In truth I have not brought the car back to the dealer yet.Actually I
should not have to at this point but need to in any case to fix all the
other things that are wrong!
I hope Lexus or Infiniti will give me good trade-in value....read morehide

- my 2nd TL of this series, excellent car to use in real world plus performance
- engine should have had unrated horsepower and better torque for 2006
I have owned 4 Acuras, top service, great car to use with lots of driving, put on lowering springs, camber kit, 18" alloys, performance tires, car drives outstandingly with excellent handling, from this and the 2004, I have done over 36k miles, no torque steer to notice, excellent sound system, XM, tested the Lexus IS 350, cost over $8,000 more to equip the same, back seat and trunk way too small to use, very happy with Acura service, Tom Fraser...read morehide
