I disagree with the previous review...I own a '03 CL-S 6mt. My neighbor owns a 07 TL-S 6mt. Off the line, My vehicle pulls hard then his...won 2/3 races...strech was a bit less then a quarter mile. With that being said; I honesty don't think you're getting what you pay for...

- Power, options standard, price, great interior
- FWD, no 18in wheel option
I purchased my 6MT in the middle of Feb with about a foot of snow on the ground and actually made it home. While I at times complain about the car being FWD, I know that I would have had to pick up the BMW 335i another day.
POWER AND HANDLING
Great engine with excellent power. Would like to have more torque down low, but power builds as the revs climb. Typical of Honda. The suspension is great and the car handles well on turns. I must say that torque steer is limited, but if you push the car hard while in a hard turn, or hit an imperfection in the road, then you will know its FWD. The brembo brakes are nice but I always thought it needed stronger brakes until I needed them one day and they stopped the car from 50mph very quickly. The 6sp manual is awesome, and shifting through the gears is quick and clean. Gas mileage is also pretty good, and compared to our volvo truck makes the TL seem like a hybrid. Overall, I have found that the car seems to respond better when you push it a little harder. I definitely had a new respect for it after the first night of empty roads.
I would say that this is where the car makes up for any of its other faults. The black/gray interior(that i happen to have) is very nice and there is plenty of leg room in the back. I have a 3 year old and my wife says its nice that he doesnt kick the back of the seat like in our old Jetta. The look of the dash, etc. is tops in my opinion, and with standard nav, voice control, etc. you cant beat it.
If you are looking for a pure sports car, then I would say the TL type S is not your car. Its more of the car for a person who would like a sports car but cant get it because of space needs(i.e kids). Great interior, great engine and great price....read morehide

- Value for the $$, Drivetrain, Sound System, Honda build quality
- Torque Steer, Turning Circle a bit truck-like
I traded a 2005 Honda S2000 that I absolutely loved to drive, but lacked a couple of extra seats. I forgot what torque feels like. This car, in my opinion, is every bit as good if not better than the Audi A4. However, like the A4, it could use an all-wheel drive option. Torque steer is noticeable, but it is not unmanageable. The SH-AWD from the RL would make this car an absolute world-beater and would be the only thing Acura could do to improve this car. Some have complained about a somewhat stiff ride in the Type-S, but I find it to be just about right....read morehide

- Power;Suprisingly descent mpg;Loaded with Features;Very Comfortable
- dont have any..
I went to the dealership with my father who was suppose to be buying a vehicle. I looked at the new improved resurrected Type S TL and it just took a 4 minute test drive... I took it home that day!!! And He didn't get anything lol. Power for this well priced luxury sport sedan is excellent, shifting is smooth as ice, and the ratios are right on par with Acuras VTECH power bands. With the right driver behind the wheel you can make your passengers wide eyed as you throw the car into third--forth gears and push it, but hitting all those thirsty cylinders will drain your fuel economy down so I don't recommend flooring it around all the time. Speaker system is a step way up compared to my last Acura, I had a 2002 Type S RSX. Navigation system is on point especially with XM Traffic Reports and the voice automated system is very accurate and easy to use. Interior noise, barely any, considering this car has a noise reduction system that works very well. The interior is very plush with all the right features including front passenger air climate controls and front passenger heated seats. I could go on and on but just drive it and see for yourself it won't disappoint you.. well unless youre driving some 60k Mercedes or high end Lexus but even they will crack a smile on this well packaged vehicle!!!...read morehide

- Super Hero Powers, Gas Sipper, 6 gears of heaven, F1 LSD, sultry interior, fighter pilot exterior
- the stares you get at the pump can get annoying but that's why i got her
I went in to purchase a 2007 RL because of the SH-AWD and the 3.5 V6... but they didn't have the color i wanted... so i test drove the 3.5 TL Type-S 6 speed and fell in love...
sure i could have bought an infinity, a bmw, a benz... but then i would just be another yuppie with to much money... i didn't want to be the guy who bought a car because of the badges... i wanted value and satisfaction something the other contenders couldn't offer me...
Some people say that the TL is a glorified honda accord... well... the honda accord has gotten 10 best for as long as i've been alive... so what's the problem again? in my opinion i did get a glorified accord... but i also got 46 more horse power, LSD, race suspension and a 6 speed that makes other cars disapear in the rearview mirror......read morehide

- 3.5L V6, Navi, Bluetooth, Reliability, Fuel Economy, 6-Speed, Appearance, Stereo
- No SH-AWD, Exhaust System
I Love this car! No better car or value on the road, owned several Honda/Acura vehicles all over 230k miles. This is a very sporty, yet prestigious vehicle as far as apperance goes. You can feel every little imperfection in the road, but thats a sacrifice i'm willing to make for excellent handling. Very easy Navi system to use. Probably the best factory installed stereo i've ever heard! The 286hp engine has endless stamina, and moves this vehicle with ease, and operates very smoothly. I wish the exhaust system had a deeper note; i love how the exhaust is muted up until about 4000 rpm. Wish it had SH-AWD, which would make it heavier....read morehide

- Best car on the street, HP is amazing, Fun car to drive
- The envy looks people give you!!!
The new Acura TL-Type S is the best car on the market next to the BMW M5. I'm a pretty young guy 21 yrs old(i fight MMA and have won good amount of tourneys and i saved up the prize money) and i bought my TL about a month ago. The car is a beast i like the sound it makes at idle. Men twice my age constantly give me envy looks while driving next to them. I my TL is black with tinted windows with the 18 inch alloy wheels. This is a car tha was designed by God. Infinity, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Audi have no response to this car. My fav thing to do is roll up to rice burners and just take them off the line. HAHA...read morehide

- Engine, Transmission, Great interior styling and quality
- Some torque steer
After looking at nearly every other car on the martket including the 335i, G35, IS and even the mazdaspeed3 and wrx's, I decided to go with the TL Type S. First off, you immediately notice the potential of the engine and its willingness to go fast. It sounds amazing and when you give it gas it will come off the line quickly. It is very poweful and accelerates fast in any gear. I constantly find myself saying "wow" as this thing can move when you want it to. Second, the 6 speed transmission compliments the engine perfectly and shifts are smooth and quick. Execellent match. Finally, the interior quality and space is excellent. I got black with two tone black and grey interior which looks awesome. The back seat is large and my 2.5 year old can actually sit back there without kicking the front seat. I picked the car up after a foot of snow and had no problem. My buddy with the IS350 called an hour later saying he couldnt even get out of his driveway.
Since no car is perfect there are of course the downsides. While few, the main one is the torque steer. While mild, you will sense it on imperfect roads under hard acceleration or when taking a very sharp turn. While you can live with it, its still there so its a drawback in my book. My other minor negative is that hands free link. Tricky to figure out but pretty cool once you get the hang of it.
Overall, I think the Type S is an amazing vehicle and is a pleasure to drive every day. While it wont beat the 335, g35 or IS in straight line, it isnt far behind. And besides, i'll give up a half second in the quarter mile for 5k in my pocket....read morehide

- Classy looks (inside & out), great ergonomics, superb NAV, terrific sound!
- Haven't found any just yet.
The best car I have owned and driven. I owned a 01 325i BMW and have driven the 06 325i and the TL "S" is definitely a cut above. Great torque with one of the smoothest engines I have ever experienced. Without a doubt the best "bang for the buck". Go get one!

- Killer Stereo; Great GPS; Good Looks; Quieter than previous models; Bluetooth great; Bang for Buck!
- Could use 18" wheels; Torque Steer; not much else!
I had a 2001 CL Type S and this one new slays all the old models! Get the CARBON BRONZE PEARL with Black / Silver interior! The color totally matches the new wheels. It attracts a crowd wherever I drive and it is only 3 days old. The stereo is AWESOME! Plenty of power and handling to match. Yes there is torque steer but with proper throttle use it is more than tolerable. The new 6 speed manual trans is perfectly mated to the engine and I was tired of these new sportomatics. GPS much better than older models and getting new directions is practically instantaneous! Plenty of room for everyone as well. I have to get used to the verbal commands for NAVI and other controls (600+!!) but that will come with time. Handsfree BLUETOOTH is incredible (the person sounds right next to you)! Never though I would buy a 4 door but here I am in love with it already!...read morehide
