My husband and I bought this car a year ago. It's a TLS 2008 with Navigation. I will never drive anything else. This car is a dream to own!

- Performance, gadgets
- Transmission shifts rough (Acura calls this "Grade Logic") Eats Tires
Very nice car for the price point. Well apportioned and no hagling over options (very few mainstream cars with NAV or No Nav, thats it for options basically) Transmission software is subpar and you'll need a experienced Honda Mechanic to address it, Acura guys are Knowledge Base junkies who cant think outside the 'engine' box. 09 coming with SH-AWD, for the snow driving, rain sliding bunch. Wish I would have waited, but great car anyway...read morehide

- Good looks nice features
- Rough ride, uncomfortable seating position for driver
Bought my TL new but it is the worst mistake I have ever made in a car purchase.
Very disappointed in the overall feel of the car and especially, being a short person, how difficult it is to find a good position for the driver seat especially in relation to the pedals.
Sorry I bought this car and will get rid of it as soon as possible.
This has turned me off completely to Acura. Never again!!...read morehide

- Appearance, Sporty performance and economy
- Ride is too rough, rattles rattles and more rattles
I previously owned 2000 RL and a 2005 TL and had excellent sucess. However within 2 weeks of taking ownership of the 2008/WNV on May 25 2008, I found the ride unusually harsh which seem to be shaking the car apart, creating rattles that I have taken back to the dealer numerous times . To the dealers credit (Acura of Brookfield Wi) they are really trying to find and fix the problems. I have had two new loaner TL's of which both had a more satisfactory ride. This could because my automobile came equiped with Michelin Grand Touring All season tires which are very hard. The dealer infomed me that this is a better tire then the Bridgestone Turanza which is a softer riding tire.
My problems have not a fixed satisfactory because as soon as one rattle is fixed another appear else where. For this automible to be one of Acura's best sellers, I am dissappointed that the manufactures quality is so poor. If I wanted a poorly assembled car I could have spent less money and purchaed domestic....read morehide

- Excellent value for money
- RATTLES, RATTLES, RATTLES
I live in OC, CA where every other car on road seems like BMW 328i which is a nice car but for the money, I found TL is a better value; more horse power, roomier interior & trunk space, more standard features, etc.
However, within a week after I bought the car, it started to rattle whenever the moonroof was in tilt position. It is quite annoying. The rattle makes the car feel like a cheap economy car, something I would not expect it for almost $40 thousand dollar car. I took it to the dealer for repair several times but no success. They replaced the rubber visor & even took apart the navigation/CD player. Now, I'm driving only w/ the moonroof open or close, no tilt.
No power folding side mirrors (not even an option) instaed of, say, heated seats & both side mirrors do not automaticaaly tilt down when you reverse; only the side you selected tilts down (I found it inconvenient)...read morehide

- Navigation, Camera, Value
I am thrilled w/ My 2008 Acura TL....I traded in my Infiniti G35 and there is no comarison. This car rocks!
My Mother just purchased the 2008 BMW 328i Sedan...there is no comparison. For her $43,000 ...No navigation, no back up camera, and her phone and Homelink wont sync. She has been back to the dealer a half a dozen times to work out the kinks....big deal she gets a free year of sirius!
The ACURA is roomier in the back and the trunk....the gas mileage and performance seem to be superior.....
I have no regrets about purchasing my 2008 TL....read morehide

- Reliability, Handling, Value, Features, Performance, Quality
- Torque Steer; Premium Fuel
I've owned this car for 3 months at this point and I could not have asked for a better vehicle for the money. I love this car. It oozes quality. I have driven cars that handle better and look better - but they were at least $15K to $20K more than the price of this car. The fuel economy averages 11L/100km (20 mpg) in the city which, given the power of this car, is frankly remarkable. The navigation system is surprisingly useful and the sound system is simply extraordinary. The front seats are very comfortable and supportive and there is lots of room for passengers in the rear. Styling-wise I am not a huge fan of japanese products, but I have to say that I have had a number of complements from strangers about how nice the car looks. For me, the styling is nice enough - but a bimmer or audi it isn't in that department. That being said, I am looking forward to owning this car 4 years from now - something I have never relished with a german car (and I've owned several). Only drawback I have found with this car is one that I knew about before I bought it, and that is the propensity for torque steer as a result of being front wheel drive. The new 2009's apparently will have the option of AWD that would address this. On the whole, I feel great about this purchase. I could not recommend it more. I would buy it again in a heartbeat....read morehide

- Great value, awesome technology, drives and rides great
- Need to learn the voice commands, kinda of finicky
This car rocks. Moved from an Infiniti FX 35 and forgot what a great ride a sedan gives. This car is a rolling sound lab, the XM Radio, the CD player, the Ipod interface gives you the flexibility to play whatever music you want. The car looks great (I have a Carbon Bronze Pearl version), moves smartly, and rides wel. The gizmos are terrific, be sure that you don't crash using them. Great new car gas mileage, so it be be replaced by the end of the year, there are great deals out there on this outstanding vehicle. Buy it, you will be very surprised how good this car is. I have had owned 4 Bimmers and this is the best car of the bunch. Enjoy....read morehide

- Great Navigation System.
- Rattles galore. "Old" looking...it's been around forever. A basic car.
This is about as basic of a car as you can get if you cannot afford a Lexus, BMW, or Benz. The styling of the car is outdated as the TL has had no real changes in the past five years. The car will cause you to have headaches due to constant rattles (three trips to dealer thus far to try and solve the problem).
Bottom line: it's a non-exciting automobile for folks trying to convince themselves the Acura TL is every bit as impressive as the better Lexus, BMW and Benz lines....read morehide

- I have an 04 6-speed, really handles well, is fun to drive, and gets 30MPG on the highway.
- Starting to see some hardware deficiencies, speakers vibrating, an occasional rattle, etc.
THe TL is a solid mid-market vehicle, and is a great combination of style, sportiness, and performance. NAV is a great feature to have if you do much driving or exploring. Summer car is a 99 BMW 3 series convertible, but I'm thinking of parting with that after purchasing the TL.
