- nice sporty look, blue sporty color, navigation with voice activation, back up camera, quad exhaust
- not so good fuel economy, limited can holder and storage space inside, rear seat does not fold down
I've purchased a brand new 2008 TL type s this Oct for $7000 less than the market price. The dealership at Libertyville Acura in IL was giving away the car to me to make way for the ugly 09's. I traded in my very reliable, effecient 04 accord coz I wanted a more sporty car. This TL indeed puts a smile in my face everytime I see it, true for the other people who come across it. I've seen several people literally come close to the car, short of touching it. This car has tremendous accleration which creates a growl from the engine, superb handling and cornering. The steering wheel may be too heavy to turn, specially for the females, due to the wider tires it has. Comfort creature amenities such as navi with voice activation, memory seats and vented leather seats make it a wonderful car to drive. Added features such as a back up camera and heated side mirrors that roll down when backing up are a plus. However, I've noticed that there are fewer can holders and there is a lack of storage space for my eye glasses unlike the accord. Fuel economy is not the best (16 mpg city only) but I guess I shouldn't be complaining coz I have a sports luxury car after all. Fan speed in the air conditioning system, I think, rans slower than the accord. Rear seat does not fold down and leg room at the rear is a bit tighter. These comparisons are based on my accord which is a family car and not with a sports vehicle. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I got the deal of the year (also got 2.9 APR) and most of all, I got the car I wanted so much....read morehide

- sweet looking car,not badly priced,handles well
- sometimes windows sqeak
I just love this car. Best thing I ever bought. Fun to drive, handles well & I've gotten alot of compliments on the looks of the car. Not too bad a gas if you don't have a heavy foot. I'm getting 21 mpg around town.

- $3000 of MSRP! I like the sports steering wheel, the sound system is great!
I'd been looking to buy a German Car for the longest, so last Wednesday I test drove the VW Passat Komfort...overall, I liked it, ONLY UNTIL I test drove the Acura TL by chance, and realised that German car engineering is no longer on top. The Accura TL is the best Car in its class, and best priced. Rides steady, has good gas milage...and I got a huge discount on it!...read morehide

- Smooth ride
Not great on gas. Front is too low and you must take driveways slow. I'm about 5 feet its hard for me to see out back window to check for blind spots. If your cosidering the TL test the TSX first. Its way better on gas, but smaller.

- Affordable luxury inside and out, Honda reliability, did I mention affordable luxury inside and out?
- Speakers will not last if the very powerful subwoofer is used, limited passenger seat adj, trunk spc
Being on a tight budget these days, it's nice to know I purchased a considerably luxurious car for less than "the German car" price. We all know that handling/suspension put asside, an Acura is as good as it's gonna get when you want the entire package. I absolutely LOVE the "Hands Free Link" feature so you don't have to use an annoying Bluetooth in your ear! It's funny when you're in a drive through window and the guy laughs at the conversation going on in your own car because he can hear it (make sure it's not private of course). Basically, the TL speaks for itself and you won't be able to relate to what all of these Yahoo comments until you see it for yourself. That's what the test drive is for! Good luck and don't be pressured by the dealership guys trying to sell those UGLY '09 TLs ok? You can do it!...read morehide

- $2500 under invoice
- Rattle noise comes from everywhere. A Rattle box for $30,000
Big mistake I have made to have this car. It is a Rattle box and makes you crazy. The rattle starts right after one day I got this car. noise comes from every possible locations one after anther: center, back, 3 out of 4 doors, 2 front seats, moonroof ...... Some of thme are fixable and some are not - You never know how many more will come.
The only way is to turn on the radio loudly to mask these rattle noise.
The dealer tried hard to fix the problem and once they happened to say that the TL (after 2004 model) makes a lot of trouble for them (in terms of rattle).
Do not buy this car and do not make mistakes as I did (less money for more cars). I should have spent 3-4K more to get a Lexus or Infinite....read morehide

- it is an acura: reliable, high performance, great looks, fully loaded, good gas mileage
- too nose heavy, wears out front tires very fast, torque steer.
A great car for the money. Very solid and reliable. Also it has
excellent acceleration and handling. But the car is nose heavy and has torque steer. Front wheel drive cars are best with a 4
cylinder engine. I have issue with fast tire wear, every 15k it
needs new tires.

- Appearance is the best feature. The 2009, from the pictures, does not come close.
- Some rattles on rough roads.
This is 2006 TL A/T with over 40,000 miles and we could not be more pleased. The engine must just be getting broke in because the quoted 29 MPG is really closer to 32 at 70-80 MPH on the open road. The styling couldn't be better and the leather still smells great even after nearly three years. Acura dealer, DCH Acura in Temecula, performs extremely well. Excellent service and even open on Sundays. Unfortunately, as we feared, Acura has destroyed the great looks with the 2009....read morehide

- Acura reliability, performance, appearance, Bluetooth
- Would like to see future models run on 87 octane
I absolutely LOVE my ’08 TL! I took delivery on June 16th and could not be happier. And the best part of all is that I got an amazing deal on it!! My last car was 10 years old, so I wanted to be 1000% sure my next car would be something that I really loved. I test drove many other cars including the Lexus ES 350. And while the new style of the Lexus is beautiful, it was spongy and felt like a retirement vehicle. I also test drove some cross-overs, but then I realized that they’re the modern day station wagon. Nothing beats the performance of a sedan.
Getting back to the TL, it is divine! It is the perfect combination of performance and luxury. It handles like a dream, very responsive. This car has more power than I need. But it’s nice to know that it’s there if I need it. The stereo system is amazing. I thought CD’s sounded good, but the DVD audio is a WOW experience. I got it in diamond white with the taupe interior. It’s gorgeous! And even though this body style has been out for a few years, it is anything but boring. I love the classy and understated lines of this car. The interior however is anything but understated!
The gas mileage is ok, averaging about 22 MPG overall. Most of my driving is city. I only have 700 miles on it so far, hopefully once the engine is broken in some more, it will improve. But for a performance car, that isn’t bad at all! My last car had 60 less HP and I got the same MPG. No complaints here.
I would buy the TL again in a heartbeat!...read morehide

- EXcellent seats, superior handling, value for price
- Tranny shifts down too readily
My 2006 TL is my second Acura, purchased after careful comparisons with Lexus, BMW (of which I have owned several), and Infiniti. This car has exceeded my original expectations. It handles better than my BMW 328, a statement I would have debated heatedly without first-hand experience. When one considers value for money, and probable long-term reliability, it stands out clearly from the competition. The front seats have made several fourteen-hour days an amazingly restful experience....read morehide
