2009 Acura TSX User Reviews

- Awesome mix of luxury, tech features. New styling is much improved over '08
- 6-cyl would be a welcome addition, but then it would be a TL
This is so much more car for the money than the Lexus IS, Audi A4, and Infiniti G35. I've been very pleased with almost all aspects of this car. The interior room rivals that of the TL, much bigger than the Lexus. Interior fit and finish makes the Audi look quaint. The only weakness is it being a 4-cyl engine, just doesn't have much low-end torque. But if you added a 6-cyl trim, it wouldn't be differentiated from the TL. I'm looking forward to a lot of pleasant years driving this machine....read morehide

- Great MPG, Everything Standard including Bluetooth & Xenon headlights.
- Reflection on the dashboard display depending on time of day.
Picked my TSX up last week. Two tank-fulls later (~500 mile range on a tank-full) and I'm very pleased.
Everyone complains about the power. There is a trade-off here...do you want a nicely appointed car with great gas mileage or do you want more performance? I'm averaging 29MPG so far with about 80% Hwy / 20% Cty. I just started using the cruise control and the mileage increases dramatically when in use. You just can't match the fuel sipping manually that the computer can do for you.
I considered the Volvo S40 and the Audi A4. You can get a similarly equipped S40 with 168HP and lower mileage than you can get with the TSX with 201HP standard. If you upgrade to the next engine on the Volvo, you are paying the same as you would for the A4 (~$5K more for equivalent options as the TSX).
Acura, like Honda has standardized packages. You don't feel nickled and dimed like you will with the Audi or Volvo ($28 for a sunglass holder - std on TSX). Seats (power & heated on both sides), Xenon headlights (std), Bluetooth (std), iPod/USB/Aux jack (std), XM (st), auto-dimming mirror (std), easy to clean sharp looking wheels, plenty of storage.
Overall, it's a great car. The best I've ever owned. Still plenty of power..don't know what everyone is complaining about. Still has power left at 100MPH (not that I've officially tested that).
Also, the dealer experience was great..but can vary between dealers from my experience.
I'm sold on Acura..but admittedly, still think about the Volvo. May convince the wife to trade in the Minivan for the Volvo some day....read morehide

- No trim specified for this review
- Ride/handling, fit and finish, seat comfort
- Looks like everything else on the road, pricey, controls are confusing, low end power
A pretty fun car to drive but couldn't they have come up with more original styling. It looks like everything else on the road with it's plain slab sided styling. The DOHC engine is frisky when revved but a bit slow on take off. The interior dash layout looks good but takes some getting used to for locating controls. Acura and other manufacturers need to offer more interior color option choices too!...read morehide

- Nice looking, Decent interior
- 200hp engine more like 140. Gas Mileage not as advertised. Poor handling.
Gas Mileage is more acurately 15 cty 24 hwy. Overall, the car looks nice, has a decent interior, but for the money, it is not worth it. Priced at 26k would more acurately classify this car. My oppinion, Look elsewhere, Mazda, VW, even Audi.

- Awesome fuel economy, loaded with so many cool techy stuff
I just dropped my 06 TL with NAV for service and the dealer gave my brand spanking new 2009 TSX with 6 miles as my loaner. I had this car the entire day. i work around 30 miles away and I was able to test it out on local roads and highways. This car is awesome. The navi and all the gadgets are awesome. Everything is nicely placed.
The car has great acceleration. My TL has a heavy pedal and I need to apply a little more force to the pedal but TSX flies when you tap the gas. The handling is not as stiff as the TL so that did take some time to get used to. Car is definitely a eye catcher.
Some of the cool stuff I noticed was weather report access and backup camer to name a few. THIS CAR IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE PRICE!!!
I can't wait to see the newly remodeled TL. I pretty sure it will be eye catcher as well. I wish I wasn;t working the day I had the car. Could it enjoyed it more. Kinda sad that I had to give it back but I love my TL...well atleast until I trade it for maybe the 2010 version....read morehide

- A beautiful car for the price
- No discounts offered yet on price
This is a great car. I traded my 2006 honda accord for it and I love the new drive. Its great looking and offers the comfort that I deserve.
The 17 inch wheels look great and the engine has great performance with good but not great power. The stereo system is near perfect and I love the leather seats. A great great car....read morehide

- Smart styling,peppy acceleration,smooth and quiet ride,good fuel economy
- Screen displaying clock/radio stations, etc. difficult to view in certain light
We leased an Acura TL for the past five years and wanted to lease another, but didn't like the styling of the 2008 TL. Looked at an Audi, Lexus, and Volvo, but kept delaying a decision because we were so hooked on our Acura's dependability and performance. The 2009 TSX is beautifully appointed, everything is standard -- leather, Bluetooth, heated seats, homelink, etc. -- unlike the others where these features are optional.
We love our new TSX!!!...read morehide
