- Excellent driving experience! Pretty good mpg.
After one month, with 400 miles on the odometer, a problem with the engine control unit (ECU) stranded me at night in the rain by the side of the highway. After being towed 40 miles to the nearest dealer, they could not fix the problem and so just rebooted the ECU. Problem has now recurred at 1000 miles, requiring another tow to dealer, who now has had it almost a week trying to identify the problem.
This is all the more irritating since I really love driving this car...it's sad that I have now lost all confidence in it since I never know whether or not it's going to start....read morehide

- ride, handeling, fuel economy and not many on the road!
- sun shade doesn't block out enough sun, rear seats don't fold flat
Nice..real nice sums up my thoughts on this car. Its so tight and very fun to drive with the shift paddles. Feel confident that this car is made in Germany and feels like a premium European car when you drive it right. Luv the fact that u don't see many on the road, Wunderbar!

- Perfect car.
- Not too many.
I love this car! I have been more than pleased with everything from the way it drives to the way the dealership takes care of me when its time for servicing.

- Acceleration, fuel economy
- Timely response/repairs on warranty items from Audi
At 5700 miles, automatic transmission had to be replaced. Took Audi, not local dealer, almost 2 weeks to determine the problem and repair, then Audi decided to replace the transmission only after I complained to Audi Customer Advocates several times about the lack of response. Almost 3 weeks before I got the car repaired!
Now at 14000 miles when outside temp is at or close to freezing, all I get is hot air no matter what the dual temperature controls are set to, until temperature is set below 60 degrees, then it blows out cold air. Took the car to dealer on 7 Dec; today is Dec 20th and still no resolution from Audi.
Local service department has been great, but hands are tied by Audi. Wished I had bought a Honda or Toyota!!...read morehide

- FUN, stylish, not generic, FAST, sporty and practical
- Add-ons add up, but otherwise, nothing yet!
Granted I've only owned my A3 for a week, so I'm still in the honeymoon period, but this is one fun car. We looked at most entry-level luxury brands (BMW 3 series, Lexis IS, Acura TSX, Saab 9-3) and the Audi A3 was the clear choice.
It drives like a sports car, but has the praticality of a back seat and hatch. It has a suprisingly small footprint, which is a big plus living in San Francisco. We got ours with the premium package (adds paddle shifting, power driver seat, leather, trip computer) for under $29k, but had to forego the open sky system to stay under the $30k mark.
The DSG is a blast and you really won't understand why everyone raves about it until you drive the car for yourself - you owe it to yourself to try it before you buy anything else. I love that the A3 is a little different than the rest and that I'm not another San Franciscan with a 3 series.
I'll update my review if we have an repair issue......read morehide

- Fuel efficient couples with torquey engine pull!!
- Wishing the car offered a moonroof as standard even though OpenSky is an option
Been with the A3 Sportsback for almost nine months and has been very pleased with the car. Mine is the 2.0T 6-speed manual with the sport package. I took it for a scenic 3-hr drive through montain roads and down into the deserts in San Diego county - pure joy! Handling on the twisty roads is quite superb. Fuel consumption on the hi-ways is typically around 32MPG at 69MPH. The AudiConcert sound system is not the best, but does its job for most music I listen to: jazz and electronicas. The interior is cleanly laid out. I am quite comfortble in the seat being 5' 11". This is a car I plan to keep for a long while unless Audi start selling the A3s with the TDI motors....read morehide

- Extremely agile and quick this car performs very well.
- Truck space is some what limited.
I owned several cars and this is the best one when you combine sportiness and luxury. The car performs very well and is fun to drive. I love shiffting with the DSG transmission especially on tight corners. The gas mileage is great and you still have performance!

- No trim specified for this review
- Excellent fuel economy, good brakes and confortable
- GPS difficult to program
I rented this car in the French Riviera. Drove it for a week, all over. We got to Italy and back and we returned it to the rental place with half tank full. Amazing. It was a Diesel A3. Good engineering.
