- Pros
- Very nice looking car in a sea of BMW's and Lexus'. Great interior and Quattro
- Cons
- Eats oil, sunroof only cracks open, price
Purchased As New
Great car overall. A bit pricey, but mainly worth it. Not a beast performance wise, but its not a race car so it doesnt matter. Interior is far superior to bmw or lexus. Like the feel and handling. Bad things about it: it eats oil like no tomorrow, every two months I have to refill the oil which is not cheap. Sunroof only cracks open. Also, windows freeze in the cold and you cant shut your door all the way until it unfreezes. Fortunately I moved from the cold down to the warm south. Handles very well in the snow/crappy weather though with the quattro all wheel drive. Only other flaw is I wish it was cheaper to own and pay tax on....read morehide

- Pros
- Transmission, pretty skin, handling
- Cons
- accelerator lag, turbo whine

I owned an A5 for about six months. I loved it at first. Handled sweet. Nice deep seats. Liked the looks. But then I was getting my wife's X5 serviced and the BMW dealer had an '08 M3 and I took it for a test drive. I'm not splicing hairs here, these are two different beasts. When I got back in my A5, and felt that half second lag between pressing the gas and the engine responding, when I felt that curvilinear acceleration, and heard the high pitch whine of an engine, I knew the M3 was the car for me. It's a beast and it makes my heart race to drive it everyday. It's not Audi's fault; they just didn't make the car for me. Maybe the S5 would have suited me better but the one that was available was loaded out of my price range. Just don't tell yourself, as I did, that you'll get used to that turbo whine and the lag and the skylight scrim that always lets in light, and the way the turbo kicks in at 2k rpms. The A5 is a beautiful well made car but it's got tin heart....read morehide

I replaced an A6 that I had for 10 years with this car. I planned on keeping my old car for another couple of years but when I saw this one I fell in love. I'm 60+ years old and I don't feel like I'm driving a kid's car and trying to look young. It is very classy and having a convertible is a kick. Because I live in Colorado the quattro makes it usable in the winter. I can't give any report on reliability but if it gives me the same service my old Audi did I'll be thrilled....read morehide

- Cons
- Engine sound, gas milage

I have my Audi A5 Quadro Cabrio for about 3 months.
Quartz gray Cinnamon brown leather with comfort seats and Bang&Olufsun sound system.
It is drop dead gorgeous inside and out side !
You get attention any where you go. It is a very heavy car. It is heavier than Mercedes E350, BMW 528 and Acura TL !
It has an 8 speed transmission which is superb!
The engine note is annoying unless you change the gears
through tiptronic. It is lot of fun to change the gears as RPM get close to 4500. The big downside is Gas mileage which is poor in average the city is 18 mpg. I checked with dealership. They say it is normal for Audi A5 Cabrio Quadro in first 5000 miles.
I put about 55 $ gas every 7-10 days, it worth the ride and look, it is a 55,000 $ German car. I enjoy it everyday....read morehide0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Great Design, comfortable interior, stands out from the sea of BMW's
- Cons
- Paint soft, heated seats not functioning
Purchased As New
I have just purchased an '11 A5. Went in interested in the S5 but felt the A5 was more nimble and plenty quick for 99% of daily driving. Concerned over paint quality, car has just 200 miles and already has a large rock chip on the top of the hood down to the metal. Also, the power molex for the heated seats was not hooked up. Hope this car was not assembled on Friday near quitting time. Great design especially with the 19" rims, and Premium package makes it stand apart from the sea of BMW's and C Class Mercedes so prevelent in SoCal. Hope the paint and seats problems are not an indicator of poor build quality....read morehide

- Pros
- Beautiful car, great handling, fun to drive
- Cons
- Off the line acceleration
Purchased As New
This car is close to perfect. Black manual with cinnamon brown interior and NAV/tech package. Beautiful inside and out and it is tons of fun to drive. The only time the car is disappointing is off-the-line speed. Acceleration at speed is excellent. Handling is great. I love driving this car.

- Cons
- Initial turbo lag, Sunroof does not retract, sunglass holder is useless, interior storage

Love this car. I've put 2000 miles on it so far. I actually went in to buy an S5 believe it or not. The salesman sat me down and asked what I was looking for. He then pointed me at the A5, a car 15k less! Never had a salesman do that for me! After testdriving, it all made sense. The extra cash paid for the V8 wasnt worth it for my needs at this stage...read morehide

I have had this car for 5 months through Fall and Winter and driven it in rain, bad snow and ice. AWD is a must as it just slices thru snow. We had a nasty snowstorm last week and it really handled well. This is my first coupe and love it. I test drove the G37s coupe and this by far had better handling and agility. It also seats 4 adults comfortably and has amazing trunk space for a coupe. I have the coupe with leather steering wheel and heated seats with winter mats for the snow. It has amazing quality inside and everything is sturdy. The radio and cliimate control is easy to use and controls on steering make it even better. We have a Lexus sedan(much larger) which has more bells and whistles. I chose this to drive to work and back and short trips. If you are looking for a car that is unique on the road, good performance, and great quality.... this is it. If you want more power and do not mind spending 10k more go for the S5. I highly recommend this coupe as BMW are too many in number and slightly more expensive....read morehide

I received this car after Christmas, and have been LOVING it! Comfortable, 30+ mpg highway, ~27 city. Quick enough to get me a ticket if I'm not careful, all the luxuries (Prestige package with Active Cruise control option). Rides great, handles very well. Bang and Olafson sound system is excellent, dual zone climate control very good. Smart key is very convenient - no more fumbing for keys. Active cruise control works well....read morehide
