- Pros
- 4.2 L performance is better than published reviews in real world driving
- Cons
- Nav system controls are not the most intuitive; Lack of B&O stereo
Excellent value -- better choice than S6 for daily driving (quieter, smoother, 18" all season HRs) plus, V-10 on the fender won't help with Sergeant Stadanko at the window. A-6 is still reasonably low pro despite Audi's pimping of the line-up's front-end.
Drive ratio and Sport mode compensate for lack of low end torque off line in 4.2. Well programmed, smoother downshifting (much better than other hi-perf 6 speed autosticks I've driven e.g. AMG).
Flat, but forgiving cornering.
Interior is well-designed except for the Kafkaesque nav system. Someone thought this was good? A $100 Garmin (not to mention M-B, BMW and every Japanese car) is 3x better.
Safe to say, we've heard enough from Bose in cars, which reminds me of listening to an AM radio with ear muffs on. B&O system in e.g., S5 is greatly superior. Avail in 09 A6 I think....read morehide17 out of 27 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- Great car.Fun to Drive, corners like a sports car
- Cons
- Controls are different (some say unique). A minor issue that abates with time
We actually own an 06 A6 Quattro. Audi is exceptional in all categories. Maintenance is expensive, but knew that going in. Writing to all those who are considering a new Audi. If you're leary of Detroit & Japan & Korea, European is unparalleled. This is my first audi and have become loyal. Previously into Honda, Toyota, Ford, GM & Chrysler. Finally came to my senses. We opted to not get navigation as technology changes so quickly, why lock into an installed system that will become inferior. The small portable garmins are cheaper and easier to use-- a no-brainer for those looking to save a few bucks without compromising bells & whistles. Audi is dollar for dollar far better value than BMW 5 series. Try the sport transmission & take a corner...you will not be disappointed....read morehide

I really like the @udi because of the amount of gas it needs & it is very comfortable and smooth to drive. The Audi is balanced and it is an automatic shift that lifts your car up or down according to you speed.

- Pros

- Cons
- Navigation is hard to use, The seats are comfortable. Stepping out of the car
I’ve rented this car for 4 day. The car really drive well and handles well.
However,
the car seats are not comfort at all, specially for long drive.
The navigation is very difficult to operate and I never new how to program it. Therefore, I used my portable Garmin Navigation.
Getting out of the car is another story, it is too difficult to step out of it.
Therefore, I DON’T think I would recommend this car for anybody....read morehide53 out of 125 people found this review helpful.

- Pros
- fantastic blend of performance, fuel economy, comfort, safety and good looks.
- Cons
- The seats, the suspension, and the road noise are just a bit harsher than comparable cars.
I compared the Merc. E-350 and the BMW 5 Series to the A6 when shopping. Both are a little plusher, but I have no regrets for picking the A6. The interior is well fitted, clean and roomy. I love gadgets that work well, and this one has plenty.
Nearly everything (GPS, Audio, Phone, etc.) is controlled via a single screen on the dash that Audi calls the MMI. I was frustrated at first because it takes a few days to learn how it operates. After that I love what it does and appreciate not leaning forward to operate a touch screen. By the way; the GPS is the best of any factory units I have ever tried.
I have had good experiences with the dealers; they understand fussy owners.
The big surprise is the handling. If you are considering an A6, definitely go for the Quattro. This thing sticks to wet roads as if they were dry. Drive it once on dry roads and you will never yearn for a ZR1 again!
The Mercs and Beemers are great, but they have become somewhat common if not ostentatious. I have been enjoying showing up in a great car that no one else has....read morehide61 out of 118 people found this review helpful.

Love this car. Great handling, performance. Of course cannot compare to a sports car, but good enough for someone who wants a little speedy, but with enough room for the family. My next target is either an A8 or Q7.

- Pros
- Best in class interior, fun to drive, good sound system
- Cons
- a few more body noises than one would expect ie squeeks
Drove a '06 A6 and have had the '08 for a month now. No major changes other than a few exterior enhancements that make it look a little sportier. I looked at all other AWD sport sedans in the class and found this one the best value for the performance, interior quality and good back seat space....read morehide
