Great design from engineering and style point of view, better than expected fuel rating...

Cons

A bit bummpy on rocky road

On one of my trip to San Diego last year with my wife and four kids, there was heavy precipitation and windy condition, there was a 4 door Lexus lost its control and hydroplane off the road right in front of me. But my Q7 had no problem to stay on the road.

Pros

Very stylish and classy, not too bulky looking like other SUVs, handles very well on winding road.

Cons

AC is too weak, not enough luggage room when 3rd seat is being used

The first month I had this car, it gave me some major problem with the engine lights, mechanical, and peeling buttons. It was a nightmare! But the dealer fixed it right away and never had problems since then. I have owned it for 10 months now and very happy with it.

I wish they put a power back hood door closer and opener for short people like me. I have to jump up to reach and close it.
Very good breaking system and handles very well on a very steep winding road.

Everything, it has all of the must have such as rear view cam, side asst, blue tooth and more

My only con is I wish the Bang & Olufson was available on the 07 as well as front park asst.

The Q7 has been the most satifying SUV I've ever onwed. It has all the power I need to do my daily tasks and not feel lathargic. It really knows how to scoot. MMI is very user friendly and intuitive. It handles well at high speeds. It has plenty of room and looks awesome in the S-Line set up with 21" wheels. I bought mine from Audi of Downtonw LA and they were extrememly accomodating and helpful. I wanted a custom color that wasn't available in the Q7 but was in other models. They made it happen and I'm ordering the new S5 from them as well. I am extremely happy with this vehicle and it's my 3rd Audi and I am and Audi man for life. For the money, power, luxury and interior space you can't beat it. It's better equipped at $60k than the Porsche Cayenne is at $70k and has more room to boot. If you want to buy the best car for the money and have the luxury as well the Audi Q7 is the one. If you just want a name and none of the substance that makes a great vehicle buy a Cayenne, GL or the X5. The only one thats close in my eyes is the GL cause it has great 3rd row room but overall I think the Q7 is a better buy and has much better fit & finish as well as the quality of materials....read morehide

Terrible ride, with too much roll. Feels like driving a boat.

Test drove both the BMW X5 and Audi Q7. Very disappointed with the Q7. Wanted to get a Q7 because of the built quality and the way the vehicle looked, but ride quality was terrible. The vehile had 20 inch wheels, and still rolled like a boat and handled terribly around corners. So very disappointed. Recommend to everyone who wants to buy one to also drive a BMW X5. X5 handling was just so much better. There was simply no comparison....read morehide

None in 11 months and 12,000 miles of driving.

After test driving the BMW X5 and the Lexus RX 400h, we were sold on the Audi Q7's roomy interior and smooth handling. We were able to actually sit and use the 3rd row seats,(unlike the X5's) and found the rear storage much larger than the Lexus RX and X5.

An effect I hadn't anticipated was the number of people who ask me questions about the Q7 and comment on how they would love to have one.

I have driven this SUV every day for 11 months and now have 12,000 miles on it without any, not one, problem. It has not needed any service nor repairs. I would buy it again, without hesitation....read morehide

Too many maintenance issues

I have been driving Q7 3.6 for 4 months and already having too many issues. I'm surprised and shocked to see such poor quality from Audi, and not to mention the dearlership(HBL Audi, Tysons) is worst I have ever seen.
* I had LOW OIL PRESSURE indicator came on in the 1st month. Dealer said they upgraded the software.
I dint have the problem for about a month and it started showing up again. The dealer took 1 month(30 days) to order parts and said it needs to come from Germany. Now the SUV is with dealer and saying they need to order one more parts. It is rediculous how Dealership treats their customers and not sure how Audi USA tolerates this kinda behavior, besides their poor quality Q7.

* Another issue with Q7 is that passenger side A/C stops working. It just blows outside air whatever you try to set. I'll know what happens to this problem once I get the car from dealer.

* Brake is kinda unpredictable at low speed.

My opinion is that Q7 is too much a pain with the price you pay, BMW or MDX would have been better options....read morehide

wind noise from outside mirror when driving over 100mph

If my S line has the sport seat like the German version, this car would be perfect. The handling is better then new X5 when driving in Dynamic mode. Engine sounds like a sport car. I tested it on ice and snow. It is way better than the 2005 x5 I had. I had the GL450 for a week, it is little roomier inside and more luxury, but it drives like a big SUV....read morehide

Economy is great for such a large vehicle. Great handling and ride. Superior interior design.

3rd row is awkward. Some wind noise around mirrors.

This is an awesome vehicle. I consistently get 22+ mpg at 80 mph. Cruises like a dream. Pulls 3000 lb boats without hesitating.

Waited a while to post because I made the switch from the BMW line. This SUV is clearly the leader in the large-mid class! Best in design--exterior/interior. AWD makes driving lots of fun. More cargo room than the X5 and MDX. Lots of quality put into this SUV.
