Purchased As New
We bought a 2012 Audi Q7 at end of 2011 to replace my wife's Mercedez. The Mercedez was old and so repair cost was running high at about a couple grands every year. I figured a new car should fix this problem and bought this Q7. Guess what, when we brought our car in for brake service, the mechanics told us we need to replace all four rotors and this will happen every 20~25K miles. Yup, you guess it, the cost is also a couple grands. I am an engineer myself and I have to ask myself: what kind of brain dead design is braking system? This is first time I have ever experienced that rotors need to be replaced at every brake change; and at only 20K miles!
Another surprise was the gas mileage. We only get low teens most of the time and my wife drives it on highway most of the time.
The only saving grace is its ride. It is very smooth. Other than that, there is not much nice thing I can say about it.
