This was a car I had my wondering eye on for years. Like any car enthusiast I went through comparing this to the other German cars, but it always came down to the RS4. Living in Wisconsin, I experience the extremes of the seasons and wanted something I didn't have to garage for months out of the year. The RS4 fits the bill perfectly...with the right tires. Owned the car since august and it has been in the shop for 21 days

I love this car for the same reason everyone else does but have a very difficult time with the fact that it has been in the shop for 21 days due to misfire issues at cold start. The first stint was 9 days and all they ended up doing was change all 8 spark plugs and reset the check engine light. After 9 days of back and forth Audi changing the spark plugs seemed to me like a wild guess and it turned out to be just that. The car has been back in now for 11 days and they have changed the spark plugs, seems like another guess repair.
Not to mention dozens of little things like rattles etc.

I want my money back and am VERY close to getting it under the lemon law...read morehide

I own a 2003 BMW M3 and think the world of it. When I test drived the RS4 last week it showed me what the next level looks like, more power and stability than the M as well as having that extra thing that says (family car). Gas guzzler tax. Expensive, cumbersome NAV. Doesn't feel that fast.

I just finished my first year owning the RS4. It's a quantum leap from the S4 I owned and loved. The handling is tight and remarkably nimble given the weight. My biggest issue with the car is that it is too easy to drive. My S4 felt faster behind the wheel. I must say the RS4 feels very fast from the passenger seat, but I have a hard time turning over the keys for that experience.

The NAV could use improvement given the cost. Audi should take its cue from Lexus on this one.

Next up is the gas guzzler tax. I'm getting 17.5 MPG on average. That's better than some SUVs and patently unfair.

I like to complain so I have one more. I saw another RS4 on the freeway in my color. The nerve of that person!...read morehide

after 2 tt's and a s4.. this is my favorite by far. ride is so much better than s4 yet much faster.. had ordered an m5 very happy that i canceled to get this. other than someone keying both sides of car with only 600 miles on it. love the car

Well my car is back on the road after about 13 working days in the shop. The parts were in Vancover BC and they finally put in back together. It is still the best car bar none I have ever driven but I will be a little "Gun Shy" about the parts network and how the RS4 will hold up over the miles. I am at 17000 now and I am a little worried but were can you go after you own this car. BMW????? No sorry so I have to just enjoy and know I am covered for 50000 miles. I wrote a review back in May just after taking delivery of my 07 RS4. In that review I said that the stereo was not as good as what I expexted. The sound is awesome when playing MP3s or CDs. I had just listened to the radio includung the Sirius radio at that time. The sound is not as strong when listening to the radio but fantastic when playing from the MP3 or CD sources. So I just wanted to clear that up.

Anyways, now I have about 600+ miles on the car. I think it's the best all around sports car you could buy. Even for the same money, I would not trade it for an r8. The 4 doors and huge trunk make it a sports car thats also practical. The back seat even folds down if you need more cargo room. I even bought a 32' LCD TV and brought it home in this car no problem.

There's no direct IPOD input but you can put all your sonds on one (Like I did) or two SD memory cards so you can leave your IPOD at home which is even better.

O.K. That's it. Now, if you have the means, go order one before it's too late....read morehide

This is the best car I ever owned.
Before I owned a VW Gti 1.8t and long time ago a Seat Ibiza Gti.
It is so easy to leave everyone behind you if you have a free highway.
The engine sounds willing between 5000RPM and 8000RPM.
The engine sound at 4000RPM and higher is addictive -- especially with the S-button pressed (the S-button changes the exhaust system and some other things).
Until now I've driven this car only at max 120mil/h -- there is no free straight highway here in San Jose CA to drive it faster.
Breaks react very certain and there is no swing of breaking power like it happened with the VW Gti (swinging between left and right side).
In a couple of days I'll take this car to a racetrack and hopefully there is a straight part to take the car to max speed.
Cornering is very certain -- the car stays in the lane even at fast speeds.
The best thing compared to the Gti is the traction -- there are never spinning wheels (my Seat Ibiza also never got the wheels to spin except on snow).
The car is more stable at higher speeds -- I find myself driving faster than I used to.
The clutch takes getting used to.
I only owned cars with manual transmissions. But to drive slowly and smoothly with this car takes concentration.
The car came with the additional luxury package.
The radio takes SD memory cards with mp3 files on it.
I bought a 4GB SD card and put nearly all my CDs on it....read morehide

This car is THAT good. Ive driven any performance car you can think of and this will run the best of them. The fit and finish/build quality is top notch. You can take turns at speeds that would make other cars soil themselves. Its road hugging and acceleration prowess is unrivaled. This is truly the pinnacle of German auto engineering. Finally a car that I can take to the track and outrun most production cars in the world, then take my family out for dinner all in one day . I just took delivery of a 2008 RS-4. It's a fabulous automobile. Audi continues to improve their cars. I traded a TT Coupe for an S-4, and now moved to the RS-4. Each change has been an improvement in performance and enjoyment.
