Seat, VW’s Spanish subsidiary, introduced the Tribu, a 3-door sporty SUV that not only explores a new segment for the automaker, but also points a new design direction for other vehicles in the line. The Tribu features a large, bold trapezoid grille. Two large inlets on either side of the main grille have projector-beam headlamps that track with the Tribu’s front wheels.

The 4-passenger Tribu features a glass roof and rear hatch that give the cabin the feel of riding in an open-air vehicle. The dash is equipped with four aircraft-inspired TFT screens and two dials that monitor vehicle functions and provide on-board navigation and entertainment.

Powered by a high-performance diesel engine, the Tribu features three driving modes—Urban, Sport and Free-run. In Urban mode, the suspension and drivetrain are calibrated to provide a comfortable and fuel-efficient ride. Sport mode stiffens the suspension and remaps the engine for maximum power, while Free-run reconfigures the 4-wheel-drive vehicle for surefooted off-road handling.
