Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and teased in the officially grainy photo above, the latest creation from Koenigsegg will carry the name One:1, a reference to its key ratio of one horsepower for every kilogram of weight. According to Koenigsegg, the One:1 will carry 1,340 kg with all its liquids and a driver — and its unspecified engine will thus make 1,340 hp, or 140 more than the Bugatti Veyron.
Founder Christian von Koenigsegg has already gone on record about how the One:1 will beat the Veyron in lower speeds, and that in simulations, the One:1 tops 279 mph. Doing so will require more than brute force in a production car; the Bugatti already rides on the world's most expensive tires and wheels so that it can handle such speeds at any time. But Koenigsegg will not try to surpass Bugatti in one regard: instead of selling a few hundred copies, Koenigsegg will build only six One:1s, and all have already been spoken for. Now we just need to see if it lives up to its speedy ratio.
