See a 2,000-hp Corvette win the second “King of the Street” drag race title

Everything's just a little bit bigger in Texas, and the second Texas Invitational heads-up roll race on an airstrip outside Dallas last weekend was no exception. While the spring event was taken by a 1,550-hp Nissan GT-R, last weekend's set was dominated by a Corvette from tuner Late Model Racecraft with a twin-turbo 427 cu. in. LSX V-8 engine good for up to 2,000 hp. Its top speed of 191 mph beat every other Viper, Lamborghini, Nissan GT-R and Mustang in the event -- and set up another six months of work for rival shops.
