No auto show in the world matches the spectacle and drama of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a gathering of hundreds of collector cars and motorcycles from every era competing for honors in an event that's become a bucket-list destination for enthusiasts. If you're not among the lucky few who can make the 2013 edition of the Pebble Beach Concours on Sunday, Aug. 18, Yahoo! Autos will have you covered with the exclusive live Internet video stream of the contest and all the buzz around it.
Our entire team will be at Pebble Beach next week with blanket coverage of the people, rare vehicles, auctions and new concepts running up to Sunday. For the first time, we'll live stream the launch of the Pebble Beach Tour d'Elegance this Thursday at 10:30 am EDT/7:30 am PDT. This 88-mile rally for Concours entrants led by racing great Sir Stirling Moss around the hilly Monterey peninsula will include a lap of the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track. It's a challenging test to show that the cars in the Concours aren't just static pieces of art — and while not every car in the Concours enters the Tour, finishing the Tour offers competitors an advantage in case of a tie for Sunday's face-offs.
On Sunday, the Yahoo! Autos' team will go live on-camera at 1:30 pm EDT/10:30 am PDT with our exclusive preview from the show field on the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach, featuring interviews with owners of cars up for honors along with some of the show's marquee names. The awards show will follow, revealing the class winners and the car that garners the coveted Best of Show prize — a moment you can see live only on Yahoo!
