- Superb handling, head turning good looks
Purchased As Used
I bought my 2007 335i convertible with manual transmission in June of 2010. I bought it certified pre-owned from a dealer. I love the way my car drives and handles. The standard sound system sounds pretty good, too. However, the top malfunction on the second day after I took the car home. It was repaired under warranty. There were a laundry list of other problems that followed in the later months; car stalled with bad fuel pump, headlight went out, knob that adjusts air vent broke, a recent recall fuel injector, and miss-fired of sparkplug. There were a couple other things, but I couldn't remember. I had to take the car to the dealer each time to get the problems fixed. On the plus side, everything was covered under warranty. On the negative side, it was major inconvenience. When I purchased the car, I thought an entry luxury/performance car would be above average in reliability and quality, not quite....read morehide

- Beautiful styling
- None yet

I also own a E46 sedan and I thought it would be hard to improve on that model but BMW has done it. The N54 engine is unbelieveably responsive. I dispensed with i-drive, these cars are meant to be driven. When I first started looking, I really wanted a manual but I have no regrets with the ZF steptronic with paddle shifters....read morehide

- It looks great and Stunning performance! Slightly understated, but then, less is more! No rivals.
- Steering can be a bit light at high speeds! MPG 24 - but worth the pain!
I have tried all rivals, take my word for it, nothing comes close! It looks stylish with the roof up, and sexy with it down - two in one! The rear seats are so handy and realistic (not for action men only). The gadgets are plentiful, but so decreet, which means the dash does not look cluttered. Nice lines throughout! Oh yes! The sound of the twin exhust pipes "in sports mode" - makes music to your ears. Nothing compares!...read morehide

- One of a kind in its class
- I got about 22MPG/AVG, GPS system not even compares to Honda GPS, Over Price, blank spots bad at nig
I like the look and people staired at it. Good brake, Idrive not too impress about it. So far I got about 1200Miles. It is hard to drive compares to my Honda Civic. Make sure it works with your Blue Tooth!!
First time I have BMW over my CLK320 and S430. Hicup when starting after brake at red lights or stop, same as my MBZs. Even my Corolla has a good start without any hicup or hasitate. Fast with high speed above 60MPH. Good ride with a smooth transmission. Road noise better than CLK but not S430. I still like sedan than a sport car. May be I am too old for this. I like 208 Nissan Altima Coupe design may be have a test drive in one day....read morehide

- Excellent fit and finish, Great performance, Real "looker".
- A bit "firm" in ride and steering effort, Very complicated and technical IDrive system.
We've got about 800 miles on our made to spec '08 which we took delivery of at the end of October (in the midst of the Southern California fires!). This is our "25th Anniversary Present" to ourselves. We've owned many, many cars through these years (including everything from a '82 320i "S", Jaguars, Mercedes, Lexus, and even most recently a Rolls-Royce. We've gotten more admiring looks and "thumbs up!" with this little number than any car that has come before. On the street in Carmel, California last weekend - with lot's of very expensive iron parked near - this one (with the top down in Black with Saddle Brown interior) stopped traffic. This might just be a keeper....read morehide

- For pros read the sales collateral
- sometime I get a rattle noise inside and can not figure out where is from
Got my 335 conv in august so far so good I suppose is early to give you my final opinion on this car.
So far I like it alot other than the annoying rattle noise I have inside the car from time to time and worst is I can not figure out where is from.
7 years a when I got my 530 I had from time to time a rattle noise also but went away after few months so I am hoping the same is going to happen with my new 335!!
I would say is a fun car to drive - one more thing still not got used to the perfect and comfortable seat setting. I suppose i need to work on it!!...read morehide

- Awesome performance, great seats, incredible sound, nice engine noise
- watch out for potholes (low profile tires, expensive!), not much storage space
Unlike all reviews, if you've driven a turbo before you'll notice a very very short lag. Very appealing engine note, very fun to drive, great service and no cost maintenance (life of warranty). Finish is perfect (forget the japanese, this is what a perfectly finished car is supposed to be). Ride is very sporty (similar to a porsche, but reversed as weight is distributed front and back instead of middle or rear) but still is comfy for a 4 h drive (so far the longest I've had in it). It can be scary at first until you get used to it, it nails you to the seat through 7000 rpms and through the first 4 gears, good thing the electronics are there to help until you get used to the car. The rear is tricky to drift, as the tires grab the tarmac like chewing gum on your shoe on a nice autumn day. Cupholders are oddly located and it is a driving car, not much storage space. The manuals (or your CD's for that matter) don't fit in the glove compartment, but the fast top and the button start makes up for it. I-drive takes a while to adjust to your accent, but it will, and if you don't mind taking a couple weeks learning where to locate the settings, it is nice. I picked it over an SLK-350, CLK-350, Porsche Boxster and a 350-Z (all very nice cars BTW!, the CLK & Porsche get very expensive when equipped though). Now, for a 20K less you can get a Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice (redbadged Opel Speedster) well equipped too, only drawback, 2 seats (friends gotta ride somewhere between golf clubs and the ski stuff)....read morehide

- safety, comfort, power, lumbar, hard top conv., compass, BMW assist
- limited room in trunk when top is down
This car has it all. I traded in my 2005 330 ci for this hard top model and I cant begin to discribe what an overall improvment this 07 is. This 335 has all the sporty driving experience BMW is known for, yet more power and a lot more comfort than previous models. If you have a bad back, the lumbar is 2nd to none. You can gety optional paddle shifters on the steering wheel for use when in sport mode. My husband has fun with this feature, but I find no benefit to them. This car is fun to drive regardless of what mode you are in....it really flies. Unfortunatly, with less than 1000 miles on my new baby, a car of doped up teenagers t-boned me yesterday going about 75 MPH and never hit thier brakes. The safety this car provided is what will have me loyal to the brand forever. I momentarily black out on impact and came to hearing a voice ask if I was all right and the police and ambulince was on the way. It took me a moment to realize who this was talking and where it was coming from. Within minutes help was there. I am unscratched and despite the intense impact on the passengers side, the interior cabin was never comprimised. Had thier been a passenger they would have been fine too. Thank you BMW....read morehide

- Solid as a brick, no turbo lag, beautiful, great performance, smooth and comfortable
- A heavy foot will hurt gas mileage
I have just returned from taking european delivery on my Atlantic Blue 2007 BMW 335 convertible 6 speed driving from Munich to Rome. During this period I drove 1,100 miles on all types of roads and conditions with several stretches on the German autobahn and autostrada in Italy. I am completely thrilled with the car; it is everything that I could have wanted and more. Specifically, it is very solid and, with the top up, you believe you are in a coupe. Very quiet even at extreme speeds (120mph). With the top down it is great fun.
The twin turbo is tremendously powerful, sounds throaty, with no lag of any sort. Going up winding roads, there is little need to shift as the torque is plentiful throughout its wide range.
This is my first BMW and now i know why people love them for their handling. It is firm but not hard... responsive but not touchy. And the seats are very comfortable even after several hours of sriving. I so much enjoyed the moutain driving in the Swiss Alps; not for the faint of heart!
I purchased the european DVD for the Idrive and I found it very intuitive. I was not intimidated by the Idrive at all.
I can hardly wait to take delivery of my baby and bring it home....read morehide
