2009 BMW 3 Series Convertible

- Mindblowing car: great looks, acceleration, handling and creature comforts
- Expensive to maintain, iDrive overly complex, mileage could be better, rims are brake dust magnets
Purchased As New
I waited, I researched and I bought the best hardtop convertible I could for the price. It came down to this and the Infiniti G37, and this was the hands down winner.
Top up or down this thing is great looking, sport, stylish and fast! It's even more practical than I thought it would be and so far I have no regrets!
Since I bought the car in October of 2009 I was able to get a great deal, and wound up paying less for it than I would have for a G37 convertible.
This is the most fun car I have ever driven. "The Ultimate Driving Machine"? Probably not, but sure is a blast!
Is it perfect? No, but then what is? It is the best of its class and surpasses any of the other choices out there in its price range.
After looking at all the info and comments I could online and in print, I went in and test drove the top two choices: the Infiniti G37 and this car. The cars were well matched in most areas, but the BMW is more spacious inside, had more comfortable back seats (the almost 90 degree angle of the back seats in the G37 are almost unbearable) and more trunk space available with the top down (the Infiniti has only an infinitesimal amount). To me the car also exudes more character, class and looks more aggressive and sporty.
The iDrive interface and controls take time to get used to, and it isn't really safe to do things like look up or input destinations in the nav system while driving.
