- 21 mpg around the city which I think is good for 300 hp sports car
- I can't think of any
Purchased As New
I've owned three BMW over the years. I think this model, the 335i coupe is fast, easy to park, great turning radius, extremely safe with many airbags inside. It has fold down rear seats which expand trunk space. This is a great city car for overall maneuverability, speed, reliability, looks, versatility. This is a great commuting car for a single person; and it pairs nicely with a SUV for a two-car household. Very safe, decent mileage, I recommend this car unreservedly....read morehide

- fast, terrific handling, great design both inside and out. They got the details right.
- harsh ride over rough pavement due to 18" RFT tires; I drive not intuitive
I've owned the car for 30 days. It' as fast as a V-8 with fuel economy similar to the 190 HP 10 year old 3 series I owned before this one. The engine/transmission can be a little jerky in transition between low speed deceleration and acceleration, probably due to turbo spool up.
Still trying to figure out I-drive. It's complicated, the controls aren't intuitive, but it gives you a lot more control over the functions of the car, so it's a tradeoff.
The roof is low and the winshield slopes sharply. I find I hit my head on the sunshade if I move my head forward. I sit pretty far back, so it's not because I'm too close.
Ride quality is not what I expected. It's pretty harsh over even slightly broken/uneven pavement. Be sure you test drive over more than just smooth roads.
BMW design on this one got it right. The little details are terrific. The led light on the door handle when you unlock the car. Soft LED lighting of the door panels at night. Dash controls let you quickly adjust what you need to most.
Cupholders are the worst feature. Germans don't get them. Don't put your Starbucks in one or you'll likely spill it over the floor or your passenger.
HID lighting is terrific, especially when they swivel into a turn. It's a nice feature in our neighborhood which is pretty dark at night.
The only real problem is that the car is just too fast. You have little sense of speed. Acceleration is effortless and I'm finding that I have to slow down all the time.
Much better than the IS 350 or the G35 or CTS....read morehide

- BMW Assist, Navi, and of course bragging rights
- Active steering
I do not own a 335i but I did test drive it. I liked it a lot. Only thing I hated was the active steering. Way to stiff at lower speeds, feels like I am at SpeedZone! I do plan on purchasing one within the month of Dec. I am surprised that so many ppl do not like the run flat tires. I did ask my local BMW dealership about the run flats and the hot oil temp. Of course the reply was "Every car isnt perfect" lol...read morehide

- power,handling,good looks
- manually changing into 2nd gear. nothing else
purchased the '07 coupe in january and picked it up in april. Test drove a salesmans coupe (only one available at the time) with premium package. The only option I wanted was the sport package and the 19 inch rims. I spent 3 1/2 months waiting, looking at pictures of this car on the internet and also magazines and let me tell you, nothing prepares you for when your brought out to see your new 335i coupe. The car is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the graphite with tan interior (leatherette), but looking at those tires filling up the wheel well finishes the car off perfectely.
The acceleration is awesome, with handling to go along with it. It really feels like it's on rails which gives you tremendous confidence going around corners at speed. The exhaust sounds great, the interior is finished clean and simple. For me this car is worth the extra thousands. It looks great and performs just like you'd expect a car like this to perform....read morehide

- great engine, great brakes, great handling, good interior
- extremely hot oil temperaure, run flat tires, lack of concern by BMW
I find myself having very mixed feelings about my 335i coupe. The engine, brakes and handling all remind me why I bought a second BMW. But, the engine oil temperature is way too high and makes me wonder what problems it will cause in a year or two. An oil cooler is built into the car, but only if you order the sport package, which BMW fails to tell you either in their product literature or on their web site. If you don't order the sport package you do not get an oil cooler and an engine that runs at 250 F on a 40 F morning commuting to work. The run flat tires are a joke, but that is the only option when you buy a BMW. BMW does not seem to want to adress either of these issues through customer service. This attitude has cost them any future sales to me....read morehide

- This car is the closest to perfect you can get in a sports car under $100K.
- Scary to learn; extremely fast; thankfully it was delivered with DTC engaged.
What makes this car unique is the complete package. When you combine this kind of acceleration with the handling and road grip, you get incredible performance. At altitude where I live in CO, a twin turbo smokes the V8s. It's like driving a street-legal race car. 20+ mpg is icing on the cake; awesome for a 300 hp car. Clearly an outstanding value at under $50K. Wow....read morehide

- Fast, great handling
- Build quality, reliability
I love driving this car - when it's running. I've had nothing but problems with my new BMW 335i. I had a 330 before that and it was the same thing. I thought I would give BMW another try but I guess they just can't get things right. It's a very enjoyable car when it's running though. Also, the interior quality, while nice, is not up to par of the Mercedes C-class or the Lexus IS. I think I'll go with the car I should have gotten to begin with, the Lexus IS 350....read morehide

- Love the new front end, torque off the line, brakes and interior
- jerkry when slowly rolling off the line, oil temp and realability?
I've had my 335i for 6 months and 5800 miles. I went in looking at an M3 and bought this, the car is beautiful and certainly fun to drive. I have a short commute to work, but have taken it to Vegas and back. The fact that NA doesn't get the oiler cooler is a concern, don't understand why Europe gets it and we don't. I was really enjoying my car until last week it completely died! Thought maybe it was just a bad battery - turns out it's a major electronic failure. They have switched the TCU twice and still can't get it going and it's been at the dealer for over week. Wondering if I still want the car when / if it comes back. As nice as it is, I bought a new car so that I wouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing. Hate to say it, but thinking about Infinity now. Hopefully you all don't have the same problems - again the car was great until it broke....read morehide

- outstanding performance and handling, 24.0 mpg with frequent high acceleration and high speeds, unbe
- hard head jerking on some starts, brakes too touchy at slow parking speeds
if I were to order another I'd order the exact same thing - sport and premium packages, comfort access, and power rear sunshade
