- great looking, ridiculous acceleration, and banging brakes
- feel every little bump on crappy new jersey roads due to the sports suspension
Purchased As Used
True German engineering. The car is perfectly balanced and the acceleration is just unblievable. Like all bmws the brakes are very good. It's grabby at first but will get use to it. The paint job is top of the line. Gets a lot of attention when cruising down the city. Adaptive xenon headlights are bright and fashionable, and the sound system in the car have more speaker than you can count and very crisp. The orange letter trim looks great with my alpine white exterior paint job, and the orange ambient light on the door panel made it stand out more during night time.
One thing I don't like about the car is the run flat tires the bimmers put on their cars. It trash. It only last 15k miles and every expensive to replace. My suggestion is don't get the run flats after your first set, because it's a waste.
I live in new jersey and we are known for the worst road pavements in the world, and the sports package just made matter worse because you will feel every little road imperfection. Otherwise this is one of the best car on the market.
Better than the g37, cts, c-class, and a lot better than the audi a5. the a-5 definitly got the looks, but bmw will own the audi in every performance category....read morehide

- Very comfy and smooth ride
- Many problems with the fuel pump and computer glitches
Purchased As New
I traded in my Mustang GT for a 335i with a twin turbo. It was fast and great while it was still new, once I hit my first 15,000 miles I have had problems after problems with loss of power. I have had 6 visits to get serviced in the first year, problems continue to arise. Can't wait to trade it in for a domestic reliable car! Wish I had my good old Mustang back!!!...read morehide

- Fast, sleek, head-turner with decent gas mileage. Bimmer cachet. You'll feel good driving this car.
- Annoying small problems. As BMW closely monitors their dealerships mine pressures me into giving the
The bad news first. Fortunately, there isn't much and none of it is major, so far. The seat belts are essentially located in the back seat, so BMW has them "ride a rail" to present them to the driver in a more functional location. My drivers side belt falls off the extender about a third of the time and half of the time when it does it gets twisted and becomes jammed on the roller. I got virtually everything available on my car, including the i-Pod pre-wiring and Bluetooth. The i-Pod connects in the console via a simple jack and USB plug. It sometimes "shorts out" and drops a channel and/or crackles. The iDrive definitely takes some getting used to and trying to program shuffle on the MP3 player is really tricky. I have to play with it to get it to work. The wipers leave a long line on the windshield in light rain and it's right in the sight line. Below the front bumper it is plastic, which picks up marks at speeds as slow as a half mile an hour. My dealership ("Mark the survey "all 5's" even if it wasn't!") cannot fix the seat belt after 3 tries, has told me the wiring problem isn't the visible plug and jack, it's somewhere inside the car. They have given me 3 sets of wipers and know much less that I do about programming the i-Pod. So there is some nagging frustration. Now the good. I have never had more fun in a car. It is blazing, scary fast, but fortunately has incredible brakes. The ride is classic BMW and the twin turbo's kick in only when needed, providing about 22mpg city with no attempt to even get good mileage. The GPS has map and perspective (airplane) presentations, memory, trip computer, stopwatch...suffice to say every imaginable function is included and it is all voice activated. Controls and paddle shifters are on the steering wheel. Phone and i-Pod both display on the GPS screen. Should you buy one, be prepared for thumbs up's, comments, longing looks and inevitable idiots who want to race. I think very few could keep up. I was on a recent road trip literally in the middle of nowhere, in a western state and found cruising at 120mph to be very comfortable with no strain on the car, or me, whatsoever. My sense of sanity and citizenship was the only thing to slow me down. I looked at the Lexus 450h, Audi S5, Infiniti G37 and several cars far beyond the 335i's price point and nothing compared. Is $50K a lot of money for a car? Of course. But cost and value are two totally different animals and this Bimmer is a beast, brimming with every creature comfort imaginable and every goodie and modern convenience available. Having been through a succession of Benz's, Porsche's, Lexus' and Audi's, nothing else compares. Could I have spent more money? Yes. Did I need to? No. And with the Logic 7 sound system it's just as cool stuck on the 405 at 20mph as it is full throtle. The available concierge has been very helpful and those I've dealt with have been classy, friendly and helpful. What a great, great car. Thanks BMW!...read morehide

- It's a bimmer and a def must have. This is by far the sexiest car on the market
- I would advise getting the tire warranty that cover rims and tires, not included
On the highway you cruise doing 80 without even noticing it. The rims and tires aren't included in the warranty so get it don't be cheap you bought a bimmer. The room is great even though I haven't had anyone ride behind me,however, I've fit three people in very comfortable. A total chick magnet! be careful and go home don"t let it get to your head...read morehide

- Fun to drive, great looks, hey its a bimmer
I wrote earlier about this car, I wanted to add/correct some things.
First, this is a great car! Until you hit around 20K miles. For the first 20K I loved driving it fast, in hard corners, blowing other cars off the line. People gawked at this car, black sapphire on black interior. I even had a vette owner follow me to a gas station and ask me questions bc he loved its looks. Freeway driving brings back around 24 mpg. I can cruise almost 400 miles on the freeway, great MPG! Ive made long 170 mile trips cruising at 80 mph uphill and down, and near the end of my trip, I can still step on the gas and blow people away. The car runs at 250 degree oil temp, only once had it moved above 250 to 260, when I was accelerating hard going uphill. But, 250 degrees is normal. Ride is rough on washboard freeways, but its decent. Just adjust your tire pressure in your run flats, and you can adjust the ride.
The color black is hard to maintain, it gets dusty and I need to clean it almost every 2 weeks. Paint chips a little, but prob from rocks from big rigs. Navigation is EASY to use. IDRIVE is EASY to use. I can search for a radio station, check control messages, settings, etc easily and quickly. I dont understand why ppl complain about IDRIVE. Stereo system is great, I have it on concert hall and sounds great.
BUT, DTC/DSC/Stability control light malfunction came on 3 times. I had to take it to the dealer 3 times before they fixed it, replaced it completely! You read about the run flats, they are great! Brake light malfunction is a pain in the behind! Ive had to replace the left one once, and now, the right rear brake lamp malfunction had to be replaced twice! The light prob came on more than 10 times! ON and OFF, on and off! SO unreliable! There still is a squeaking noise when I start to accelerate from a complete stop. It goes away when I hit around 20 mph! Ive read bimmer forums and this seems almost the norm for this car! I dont want to get it fixed, its annoying, but Im afraid the dealer will make it worse! The cars computer says all controls are normal, no problems! It says brakes need to be replaced in 30K miles. I dont know what it is!!
Im now around 25K miles and I have a right rear brake lamp malfunction! I have a squeaking noise coming from the car from a complete stop. The passenger window rolls down, but sounds like its scratching! Other than that, this car is fun to drive! Is it really worth it! I wanna love this car, I wanna run it to the ground. But I dont know. It might run me to the ground. Is this what you get for a 50K car!? Im lucky its still under warranty, but i can imagine the pain in my wallet, when the warranty expires.....But!!!!!! Its soooo fun to drive!@@!...read morehide

- BMW cachet, gorgeous looks, great mpg
- reliability issues?
I have a 2007 335i coupe, black sapphire on black interior. Amazing performance, can blow anyone off the line, in full auto or paddle shift sport mode. Used to get tons of looks from ppl, but not as often now since the car has been around. Interior decent. Love the ambient lighting at night, inside and out (door handles light up). Run flats are harsh at times on rough roads, but thats the compromise you get for performance tires.
I had a nail embedded in run flats, drove it for 3 months, always putting air ( a month , then every 2 weeks, then every week, then every 3 days) until i finally decided to replace them, nearly $450 total, parts/labor. Not covered in that warranty, blah.
I had DSC/DBC/active steering light malfunctions 3 times...before dealer replaced it completely. no probs since. Brake lights are awful. I had right rear replaced at 15000 then left rear replaced at 20000.
Im nearing 25000 miles, and now im beginning to hear a slight grinding noise after starting from a complete stop. Computer says brakes are fine, No problems.
I just wonder about long term reliability of this beatiful car....read morehide

- Good fuel economy, very bold
- no spare tire, always in the shop
My new 2008 BMW 335i has only 2000 miles and it has been in the shop for several issues. It is a low quality manufactured car. The fuel mangement of this car is very poor. If you buy one, you will experience long starts, jerky transmission, window problems, the need for a second car and other small details. I recommend something Japanese made; I've never had to take a car in for service so many days. I rated most stuff low due to the lack of reliability on the road. A car has to be able to start before I'll call it a performer....read morehide

- Fastest 0-60 time in its class at a price thats alot less than its competition.
- Navigation is frustrting at times, but still worth having.
I got the 335 coupe black on black with sport premium and aluminum trim and I'm glad I did.IT really brings alot of contrast into the cabin.I bought the car in Mar. and have 6700 miles with no problems. The car can hesitate ever so slightly off the line when the engine is cold.Once the car warms up after a few miles it runs flawless. It's hard to keep your foot out of the pedal but I still managed to get 17 to 19 around town with a few performance runs in between. You can expect about 370 to 400 on a full tank road trip averaging 80 to 90 mph.NO REGRETS on this car....read morehide

- Good looking, performance, handling, reliability, gas mileage
- needs super unleaded
This is my third BMW and by far the best. Ordered the car and had it six months. No problems at all. The gas mileage is not as good as my 2004 BMW 330ci, but good considering the power. Bluetooth was a little difficult to understand, but works nicely. Stereo is superb. Got the optional USB and iPod and love it. Was leary about the run flat tires but have had no problems. The four year/50,000 free maintenance was the reason I traded in my 2004.
Overall the best car I ever owned and the best car for its money on the market today in my opinion.
The dealership has provides excellent service over the last 16 years since I have been there....read morehide

- Outstanding performance, handling, brakes, steering feel, shifter, factory audio, fit and finish...
- a/c could be better, needs limited slip differential
This car is so easy to go fast in; 100 feels like 60. I wish BMW still offered limited slip diff as an option, because with this car's power, it needs it. I have modified my car with the full range of Dinan performance products (which do not void the BMW warranty) - these parts include Stage 3 software, oil cooler upgrade, upgraded intercooler, Stage 3 suspension, and high flow mufflers. I have also installed 3 piece forged aluminum 19 inch wheels and a BMW factory performance short-throw shifter. It's insane how good the basic 335i platform is, because even with the dramatically increased levels of power my car develops, the car still feels like it could handle a lot more.
The car is drop dead gorgeous; I have sapphire black over saddle.
This car is so much better than its competition; I can't imagine why anyone would buy an Infiniti G coupe even considering that it's $10K less - the BMW is worth the extra money....read morehide
