Purchased As Used
We purchased our 2010 550i GT used with 50,000 miles on it. First of all there are excellent deals on these cars because the market acceptance in the US is off. That is bad for BMW but not for you if you are looking for a luxury liner with storage and and sub 5 second zero to 60. The dash is perfect and virtual. The roof is panoramic and turns the inside out. There is thick leather with heavy stiching everywhere with wood trim accompanying each and every turn. The soft close doors will spoil you. The door handles are LED illuminated before entry. The controls are logical and at your fingertips. The tail stays tucked in and you have the ability to roll it if you wish "traction control or sport us mode off and on respectively". This car is an absolute pleasure to own. Regular service is required. You can drive a Lexus if it suits you....read morehide

- Fun to drive, decent fuel economy
- iDrive and other electronics, battery life
Purchased As New
Safe to say this is the most fun to drive car in its class, but it's overpriced (when you add any options) and the electronics are annoying and unreliable. iDrive is better than it used to be but still seems like "technology just for the sake of technology," rather than useful application of technology. My biggest issue is battery life - if you live close to work or take a lot of short trips the battery can run dead in just a year or two and BMW will not cover it under warranty. It requires fairly frequent highway trips of 10 miles or more for the alternator to maintain the battery properly, which is ridiculous. I've owned an Infinity M35 and Lexus GS300 that had no such problems, and our 7.5 year old Toyota 4Runner with 33,000 miles still has the original battery going strong. Obviously there's fewer electronics on the SUV but 7.5 years vs. 1.5 years is nuts. A BMW battery is not cheap (I negotiated down to $310 at the dealership) and the car has to programmed and "told" it has a new battery or it will do an even worse job maintaining the charge (thus you can't really just go to Sears or Autozone for a new battery). Anyway, this will be my last BMW....read morehide

- nice looking
Purchased As New
it is a big car spacious( salon), very luxurious looking in and out, eye catching, and price is good, the only problem i find it chock for half second when you try to take off very fast from a parking or slow speed, but after this small dimm in acelaration when you press hard on the gas it take off like an explotion, sporty sound. i did not like the handeling does not feel firm in your hands, but you will get use to it, doors feel light weight...read morehide

- Good fuel economy for a 400HP V8
Purchased As New
Have approximately 5000 miles on car of long distance traveling. Vehicle is quiet and has an excellant ride. Handling is not up to BMW standards but considering the size and heft of this model if handles better than other similar sized vehicles I have driven.
