- Nice Design, New lines, Excellent handling
- Ride is noisy, rough, not very smooth
I done a test drive for the 530 I 2005 yesterday, it was my dream till I drove it!!!
I was disappointed with the ride quality as the car is not very smooth and not quiet at all and you can hear the tyres noise and the air even on low speeds!!!
Furthermore, there is some sort of vibration in the steering wheel even when the car is stopped and the gearshift is on PARK.
So when you drive you feel that you are just in a normal small Japanese car (Japanese even more smooth with no vibration on the steering).
I think it's very easy for such company to make a better mountings for the engine and make the overall built of the car more isolated (use more or better isolation materials), if anybody says that this will increase the cars weight I will say they can enhance the engine and add more horse power to cover the shortage just like Lexus and Benz. I believe that doing a very light car at this price is not everything as it's supposed to be a midsize luxury sedan and NOT SUPPOSED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FORMULAS!!!
The smoothness and Vibration and quiet ride has nothing to do with performance or handling as they always use this excuses or they might say we want the driver to feel the road and get good feedback!!!! Do you think good feedback will come from the vibration in the steering wheel when the car is stopped!!! Also air and tyres noise will not give any pleasure or feedback to the driver!!
If anybody has any comments please let me know as this was the car of my dreams and I was advised by my friend who was with me during the test drive to forget it and start thinking of Lexus GS300 or E350.
Note: the car I tested was 530i 2005 demo car with active steering and done only 12,500 Km.
